Yemen the forgotten country

Looks like the US-Yemen war might be over, both sides agreed on a ceasefire:

Very good news, if the ceasefire holds.
I saw that, and I wonder what may be behind that. Perhaps I have grown too cynical, but not too long ago Israel authorized a more involved operation in Gaza, so the motivation for the Houthis hasn't changed... so what has? How did they arrive at this conclusion?

I found it odd, I welcome a ceasefire if it indeed holds, but knowing the players, I smell something fishy.

The Hothis have been bombed a lot by the US, so maybe that is the main reason why they agreed to a ceasefire - in addition to avoiding a potential ground invasion by the US. Maybe Iran too put pressure on the Houthis after the US announced that all Houthi attacks will be treated as coming from Iran.

As to Trump and the US, according to the C's the US navy sustained more damage than they admit. And maybe Trump also did not want to continue the bombing longer than necessary - it does seem that the US attacks on the Houthis were Trump's 'concession' to Israel. The attacks started at the same time as Trump refused to go along with an Israeli attack on Iran.

Now that Trump upheld his part of the 'deal' with Israel, he decided to end the bombing - if the Houthis actually stop attacking more Israeli and Western ships (maybe a big 'if'). So far the Houthis have not even officially confirmed the ceasefire agreement, only the US and the mediator Oman did.

Israel destroyed the main airport in Yemen on Tuesday and the Houthis say "this will not go unanswered":

I wonder if the ceasefire is limited only to the US (not Israel) and no more Houthi attacks on ships - while the fight between the Houthis and Israel continues.

Israel Waited For Trump To Depart Gulf Before Launching Biggest Anti-Houthi Strikes Yet

"The timing of Trump having just wrapped up his Gulf Arab states tour is interesting, to say the least."

"The IDF announced that its airstrikes destroyed infrastructure at the Houthi-controlled ports of Hodeidah and Salif, following missile and drone attacks on Israel. Several dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved, in a major operation that included not just fighter jets, but refueler and surveillance planes."

"This operation appears significantly bigger and more expansive in scope than all prior rounds of Israeli attacks on Yemen. The strikes will likely continue in the coming days,"

"According to Times of Israel, these attacks were delayed so as not to disrupt Trump's Gulf visit:"

Israel waited until the end of US President Trump’s visit to the region before launching its reprisal strikes on the Houthis, a defense source tells Army Radio. Since the IDF’s last strike on Yemen, on May 6, the Houthis launched at least seven missiles and two drones at Israel.

"This is clearly Bibi 'at war'... ironically as Trump wrapped up his regional tour emphasizing peace through deal-making, not chaos."

"Underscoring just what a major and important operation this is, the Israeli government issued images of Prime Minister Netanyahu and his security cabinet leaders and top military commanders huddling in a command bunker:"
