lol eta again ( i think i came in far too soon i was jut happy the thread had some kind of vibration in the group ) Johny Cash is excellent !! again i would never have even thought of Mr Cash yet such a good track. Im at a loss with the diversity and scope of music presented its quite amazing really :D

Oh and Dawn your choices were never EVER influenced by Anart urs are just as valid as anyone else's....that kind of irked me

its a free flowing thread!

I think I might choose either Blue Skies by Ella Fitzgerald (Edit: After researching it, she didn't write this song, but this is the version I would choose.) or What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr6EldSFwOI

I was blue, just as blue as I could be
Ev’ry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but they’re not gray anymore

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you’re in love, my how they fly

Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on

[2]
I should care if the wind blows east or west
I should fret if the worst looks like the best
I should mind if they say it can’t be true
I should smile, that’s exactly what I do

What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5TwT69i1lU&feature=related\

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
[| From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/l/louis-armstrong-lyrics/what-a-wonderful-world-lyrics.html |]
Are also on the faces, of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, sayin', "How do you do?"
They're really sayin', "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Oh yeah

Yee Haw Meager1. Thanks. I love that song.

For myself, I think an upbeat song would help alleviate the fear of the moment.
Seeing that ball of flame and so on... Any song that generates a smile is a good song.

I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire

I don't think death in itself (the after life) is scary, it's a painful death that scares me.

I heard that a medical pharmaceutical tried to buy the rights to use "Ring of Fire" in an ad for an ointment for hemoroids. Thankfully they didn't get it.

OOOooo, I bet that would to insult someone...

Number one choice would be the Tour de Japon rendition of Nobuo Uematsu's "Aerith's Theme" (link)

Number two would be "Saturn", by Stevie Wonder:

Packing my bags-going away
To a place where the air is clean
On saturn
There's no sense to sit and watch the people die
We don't fight our wars the way you do
We put back all the things we use
On Saturn
There's no sense to keep on doing such crimes

There's no principles in what you say
No direction in the things you do
For your world is soon to come to a close
Through the ages all great men have taught
Truth and happiness just can't be bought-or sold
Tell me why are you people so cold

I'm......
Going back to Saturn where the rings all glow
Rainbow, moonbeams and orange snow
On Saturn
People live to be two hundred and five
Going back to saturn where the people smile
Don't need cars cause we've learn to fly
On Saturn
Just to live to us is our natural high

We have come here many times before
To find your strategy to peace is war
Killing helpless men, women and children
That don't even know what they are dying for
We can't trust you when you take a stand
With a gun and bible in your hand
With a cold expression on your face
Saying give us what we want or we'll destroy

I'm......
Going back to Saturn where the rings all glow
Rainbow, moonbeams and orange snow
On Saturn
People live to be two hundred and five
Going back to saturn where the people smile
Don't need cars cause we've learn to fly
On Saturn
Just to live to us is our natural high

[edit] Added the line: "With a gun and Bible in your hand" as the site I copy-pasted from seems to have censored it!

Yeah, I thought of that one too, but I thought it was too obvious.

That's a nice calm song imo to go out on.

I love all these songs! Great thread. I'd go with the Circle of Life from the Lion King. My favorite movie as a kid.

I haven't seen that in a while, hehe. That's a good one too.

So for my song I will be choosing Blackout by Muse. This is such a slow and somber song that I think would fit my feelings of the event.

"Blackout"

Don't kid yourself,
And don't fool yourself,
This love's too good to last,
And I'm too old to dream...

Don't grow up too fast,
And don't embrace the past,
This life's too good to last,
And I'm too young to care...

Don't kid yourself,
And don't fool yourself,
This life could be the last,
And we're too young to see...

And that bold line makes me think of the last incarnation in a 3D body.

But for a more joyful and hopeful feeling, and in second place, Sweet Child O' mine by Vitamin String Quartet. I like the Guns N Roses version, but this one is more emotional for me, though it doesn't get the solo done like the original.

I recommend you to re-read my answer to her, it was a mistake. I was referring to the user with a flower kind of offended by the thread taking it so seriously.

Another great song with instrumental and orchestra power is final confrontation!!! its just so epic

Or shadow of the colossus song Epilogue - Those Who Remain -

These are some awesome choices! I can't decide which one I like the most (although the "Galaxy Song" is winning ;)).

My top pick would be "Brunhilde's Immolation" from Wagner's Gotterdammerung http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj64jhy1swc. It's fitting, as it is about the death of the gods from fire in the sky, after all. Plus, it ain't over till the fat lady sings!

I'd also love to hear Edward Elgar's "The Swimmer" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLz-qemKlrw&feature=related, because it sounds very passionate and uplifting. I think the poem itself is about taking the most out of life, even in the harshest of storms.

Finally, I'd recommend the final aria from Rimsky-Korsakov's Snegurochka, as it's the most beautiful piece for a lyric soprano that I've ever heard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swvRTjQk1tQ&feature=related.

Although, in reality, I'd probably not want any music and instead Be in those final moments as much as possible.

sorry about that cubbex i should have checked the entire thread first. No offence ment :)

No problem, no offense at all, but I needed to tell you, so no misunderstoods :P

Lately I've taken up an interest in spelunking. And I'm thinkin' that the next time we have a really big civilization busting impact storm, there can't be any sweeter music to be listening to than the musical, echoing, chorus of stalactites dripping in a very deep cave.

Hi DragonHunter,

Welcome to our forum. :)

We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, how they found the cass material, and how much of the work here they have read.

You can have a look through that board to see how others have done it.

This is a nice quirky thread, and there's been some idiosyncratic choices, which is always good. My nerves have been jangling for aaaages so it's been absolutely BEAUTIFUL to read this thread. Thank you to all who have contributed, great stuff!

My choice would have to be the one that instantly sprung out of my mind.......Stormbringer by the great hairy beasts Deep Purple!!!!! :headbanger:

Deep Purple Stormbringer Lyrics:

Comin' out of nowhere
Drivin' like rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way

Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed

Rainbow shaker
On a stallion twister
Bareback rider
On the eye of the sky
Stormbringer coming down
Meaning to stay
Thunder and lightning
Heading your way

Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed

Coming out of nowhere
Drivin' like a-rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way

Let There BE Rock!!!! :cool2:

Now I'll let them speak for themselves....

Ok, so, your still alive, its been announced the massive wave of earth shattering rocks are but minutes away. Whats the last song u play over ur boom box really REALLY loudly? maybe on the roof of ur garage or where ever? One last song to under line it all? ur Swan Song as at were?

ive thought about this alot recenley....whats the last song u want to hear before ur fast tracked to 5th.... or maybe 4th density? or both if u need to pick up a few things?

That's easy: The Neverending Story . Especially the part between 2:28 and 3:00 in the video below. Every time I experience this, tears stream down my face and wave after wave of sensations flood my body, washing across my skin making my hair stand on end.

The C's said to change our assumptions to experience this as a positive event. To me, this is going to be a cosmic version of the most awesome birth of something new! The only possibility that saddens me is that I might not survive as "Bud" to fully witness it all, but it's not me that is important, rather, it's the All.

Turn around, look at what you see
In her face, the mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere, and hidden in the lines
Written on the pages is the answer to our neverending story

Reach the stars, fly a fantasy
Dream a dream, and what you see will be
Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon the rainbow is the answer to our neverending story

Show no fear, for she may fade away
In your hands, the birth of a new day
Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon the rainbow is the answer to our neverending story
