Hmm, I noticed this last night actually. I've been using blockers for a long time. And sometimes I get that notice that's something like, "Experiencing interruptions, find out why." Maybe it's time to give the premium feature a go. Does it let you download videos? I always need some more podcasts it seems. :-P

I also noticed they changed the interface recently and I don't like it. It's too bloated. And I liked scrolling down while a full screen video plays and reading the comments.

Probably not the answer you’re looking for, but at our house we use YouTube enough to justify just paying for YouTube premium. I can’t imagine trying to watch videos on normal YouTube anymore.
Thanks TC - yes thats one option - Ive been watching normal youtube with ad blocker and it was fine until lately.

I guess its google making it more unless impossible to watch and indirectly getting folk to pay them money !

Yes the pop up "" experiencing interruptions, find out why " has appeared in the last few weeks!

you can revert to old format of youtube quite easily if youve got firefoxor chrome there s an extension called

YouTube Redux, which does the job :)

Using YT on the phone is torture because of all the commercials, so I rarely do that.
Chrome is also a pain; ad block was doing the job up until a few months ago but then couldn´t block it all.
But it seems like Brave has some inbuild ad block, and apart from the videos taking some extra seconds to start, I noticed there´s no commercials, at least not on the videos I watch, which is not a lot.
So FWIW

I haven't experienced it recently. It has happened in the past, but after a few days it reverted back to normal. I'm also using Firefox with ublock origin and Brave.
yep it usually stops when theres been an update for the ublock origin. Then once google cop onto it same thing happens .

Louis Rossman confirmed this a while back (YouTube throttling users using Adblock)
Google (who owns YouTube) is also making it increasingly difficult to install ad-blockers on chrome, as well as side load apps on android phones.

For those more technically minded or who have several people using the internet you can set up things like this to block adverts on YouTube (computer, phone, tv etc) and everywhere else.

Unless you want to go full network sysadmin and setup a complete security/firewall system 🤣

Simply using the Brave browser on the computer or phone will remove all the ads on Youtube and elsewhere. It does not get any simpler than that.

Yep, saw a meme once that explained it beautifully, google charges companies to show their ads, and then charges people not to show said ads to them.. slam dunk.
