Oh. I would like to ask you, please, @Nienna @Jo Bugman & @3DStudent (and others of course) for your suggestions in regard to the buying of a new pipe.

I was wondering about the "standard model":

I would love to get this kind of pipe:

Any suggestions based on your experience would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!
There are so many pipes, from elaborate Tyrolean ones to vary simple inexpensive models other then making your own. So if your not to sure weather your commited perhaps start with the least expensive pipe, but do purchase quality pipe tobacco, there are many good brands to choose from, Amphora is a good start, and don't forget to purchase a sturdy pipe cleaner.

But most important of all, tobacco is a sacred plant, respect it by having gratitude for it, for it has been traditionally used as a potent medicine, a protector against negative forces, and has been used as a channel for peaking through the Vale. Traditional societies often offer tobacco as a gift to others, and as a gift to Mother Earth for all her blessings by simply placing a little tobacco on the earth with a thank you.! .....

The other good advice I received when I started smoking a pipe was how to do it. Sip the smoke, sip it gently.
The nicotine will be absorbed by the mucous membrane in the mouth, really no need to acquire the habit of drawing into your lungs.
But I should say that I once deliberately inhaled the smoke of a vary good cigar and sage smoke to resolve a chronic condition in my lungs that persisted for many months vary successfully.
All the best....

Thank you for your advices! I asked about the model because I was checking for a potential consensus among experienced pipe smokers. Who knows, could be that there is a pipe which is really appreciated. Do you still smoke pipe?!

I have a few pipes, but I normally smoke cigars or cigarellos. I actually have recently this past week or two been attempting to find my main pipe with out much luck, the last time I used it was when I had gone canoeing up north, I'm hoping it's just buried in some back pack.
So it seems that these pipes have been on my mind as well lately. Lol

Buying a pipe is quite expensive, I am checking in second hand shops if I can find one, but all I found out were odd models, very used. A new one costs around 45$ and it's an investment.
Not sure where exactly you are looking but they can be way cheaper than that! For example:
Amazon.com (Amazon)

And there are other models around $15, the quality of the materials are not the same obviously, but they work just fine.

I smoke a pipe and I inhale. So, yes, it can be done.
Same! To begin burning tobacco I don’t inhale since I need the tobacco to stay burning so I do a bit of inhaling at the beginning, to retain the smoke in my mouth and exhale very fast without inhaling it to my lungs, that helps the tobacco to begin burning well, once is already on and burning steady, I can inhale it perfectly! not as much as when smoking a cigarette but yes, since the amount of nicotine gotten from pipe tobacco is a bit higher.
When I’m indoors, I do vaping, because my apartment has carpet so I don’t want the smoke to stick on it.

Hello, thank you!

I don't have a credit card :scared: online shopping is possible but difficult

There is a specialized shop for cigars next to my place, I will find one there. But the one you linked is nice

I used a bent billiard pipe like this.

I found that the bend helps to stop the little bits of tobacco from reaching my mouth. I got one that the mouth piece was removable so it's easier to clean. Now my dirty secret... I rarely ever smoked the pipe the way it was meant to. I would put in as much tobacco as I wanted and use a match or lighter every time I wanted a drag. I wouldn't keep the pipe burning since I'd typically sit outside for 45min or so, only taking a drag about every 5min.

Whoa it's a nice one! I have been checking and would definitely like to buy one with the inside with that "seafoam". It says the smoke has a different quality.

While younger , in my mid twenties smoked pipe for a couple of years ,a few years after stopping read somewhere that some people use an application of honey inside them , as a way in part to form some coke / carbon barrier to prevent damage ( and maybe flavour ) , perhaps pipe aficionados here can opine on it ( Link )

Hello back to all, I bought a pipe and it has been one day since. I am very happy about it and would be pleased to relate about my experience. I would wait before posting about it, but I would encourage people that have a positive feeling like i had, to give it a try, it is really an amazing experience. :cool2:

Thank you @Ricardo for the forum link which teaches me how to "tamp" a pipe among other things.

Thank you @ivanb for the suggestion of the tobacco "Amphora"; it definitely tastes great, what a pleasurable smoke. If there are similar brands you would like to suggest me (and other members as well!), I would be happy to benefit from your experience!

Hi Palestine. There are so many varieties that I'm not familiar with, and you will acquire a personal preference for aromatic or classical blends, so best to explore your options. If you are in Europe, just about every country has excellent brands to choose from.
This is a small list of good choices,
Savinelli 1876. Peter Heinrichs. Davidoff. Peterson Irish Flake, Dunhill Nightcap.
Mac Baren Ht Vintage Syrian. Sillems Councilor 1695..
Keep the tobacco from drying out, all the best👍

Hey, thanks a lot!

I am not sure if the Amphora falls into the "aromatic" or the classical blend - I would dare a... "classical"?!

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try to find one of those. 👍 👍 👍
