Yes,the same. Although I wouldn't discard the second violinist,Vilde Frang,a very sensitive player and soloist(with a big career behind her)
Another violinist I personally admire and a model of overcoming trauma and adversity(he survived a fire on his parents' farm ,with big burns on his upper body,face and bow arm) is Augustin Hadelich

I just came across this... didn't realize this was someone I follow on X. If all of this is true (and I believe it is), it almost seems as though this young woman is channeling Beethoven.
Anyway, here is her statement, and the video of her playing:
When I was still a student at the conservatory, my professors used to call me ‘Beethoven Girl’. Not just because I was the best Beethoven player they had, you see I had an unhealthy obsession with trying to get these notes to resonate at Beethoven’s truest intent.
I read what he read. I ate what he ate. I engulfed myself in Voltaire and Kant to breathe the same air of Enlightenment he breathed. To experience the frequencies he could not hear but were realer to him than his own reality. I learned from his students directly — Wilhelm Kempff and John O’Conor.
When I realized every piece of sheet music was altered by production for copyright purposes, I flew to Europe to get my hands on the First Edition of Beethoven Sonatas from Budapest. I hand painted this specific third movement on the walls of my dorm.
I graduated the conservatory with this as my final performance and went on to use it for my audition piece to get accepted as a fine arts major in university. The piece in its entirety is 1 hour long.
Here is Beethoven’s Sonata No 17 in D minor, the third movement—Tempest—performed to the enlightenment with which he originally intended.

(Note: seems she had on the "switch" feature on her camera, which is why her hands are "backwards." Also: she states later she just moved from her parents' house and now only has room for an electric keyboard, which is a shame given how authentic she's being in every other respect--well, with the exception of her outfit. Gaby, thank you for posting this. This symphony is my all time favorite and the most uplifting and joyous piece of music I know. It is so remarkable that just today I listened to the entire 9th while working and decided to post it for the joy it brings, especially at Christmas. Uncanny. My cd version is conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Carlo Maria Giulini Beethoven's 9th It's 73 minutes.

I found very few versions online. My favorite one is Karajan's, after my mom gave me that DVD version as a gift decades ago. I'm most familiarized with that version.
I was watching a TV program yesterday, where a symphony orchestra was playing Christmas songs. Although it was not specifically related to the season, they played Pietro Mascagni's intermezzo from the opera Cavalleria rusticana in the midst. I don't remember (consciously) hearing it before, and found it to be a stunningly beautiful composition; there was a touch of sadness, but still an uplifting experience on the whole.
