A story to tickle your heart bone. :)

I've been teaching art at a continuation high school this summer and the vice principal asked me if I could help clean out the room since they're not teaching art at the school any more. It seems they've fired the art teacher and all the students and staff are confirming how horrible she apparently was. The VP told me I could take whatever art supplies I wanted to use in my classroom at the high school I normally work at so I've collected some stuff.

Well, this woman was a pack rat and I've only taken about 1% of the stuff, if that. Most of the items are crafts for younger kids, like popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, beads, etc. So I asked the VP if we could just donate the stuff to a thrift store and he approved of it. Yesterday I told the maintenance man, Eric, that the VP okayed my request, but then Eric said a kinder care place might appreciate it instead. We both thought that was a good idea and so he called a spot.

Well, the first place Eric called really wanted the items, so we packed up some boxes and he dropped off the first load yesterday afternoon. This morning Eric told me that when he got there the woman couldn't stop sobbing. He said that just two hours before he called her she said she'd been crying in the shower and praying for art supplies. Apparently she's been running the day care out of her house, but has really wanted to open up a place in a building. All she needed was art supplies, but she couldn't afford them. And now she's getting TONS of art supplies.

Eric and I are tickled to death and we are packing up thousands of dollars worth of tissue paper, chalk, paints, etc, for this woman! She's getting art supplies for the next decade, lol! I asked Eric how the heck he found her and he said he'd just seen her car driving around with a sign on it advertising for her kinder care. He looked up the name online and voila!

I keep getting goosebumps over this story and just had to share it, because it's really cool how things work out sometimes. That woman must be having a wonderful day today, as she was yesterday. And there's much more to come as the room gets cleaned out. :)

Wow that's awesome, Scarlet! Glad you got to see such a happy resolution for everyone :)
