adding shame to public coughing...

I haven't seen coughing, but when I'm shopping, I restrain myself from touching items on the shelves until I'm certain I want to buy it.
I saw some guy - he had a weird look on his face, like a grimace - and he didn't have a cart, or basket to put his items in, and he was looking at items - touching them - and putting them back.
I don't think under any other circumstance I would have noticed, but he came under my radar as a potential spreader.

Я не встречал намеренных распространителей, однако и без этого есть совершенно вопиющие случаи. Один из таких случился в Ставропольском крае, в России.

I have not met any deliberate distributors, but even without this, there are absolutely egregious cases. One of these occurred in the Stavropol territory, in Russia.

The main infectious disease specialist in Stavropol, who infected 11 people, was confirmed to have a coronavirus
Irina Sannikova did not go into isolation after a trip to Spain and became a source of infection in the region
Vladimir Vladimirov released the latest data on coronavirus in the Stavropol territory. He announced this in his Instagram account. According to the head of the region, the first patient, whose name the head does not call, the diagnosis was confirmed.

- In a satisfactory condition. There are no fears for the life of doctors. We were preparing for this development. Therefore, all the necessary measures were taken the day before. Those who had direct contact with the victim are now isolated and under quarantine. We continue to identify the full circle of her contacts. These people will also be examined and quarantined, " the head of the region said.

Recall that the first patient who passed a positive test for coronavirus was the chief infectious disease specialist of the Stavropol territory, Irina Sannikova. At the height of the pandemic, from March 6 to 9, she went to Madrid, and when she returned, she did not become isolated for 2 weeks, but went to work. During the week, Sannikova taught classes at the medical University, held meetings with epidemiologists at the Ministry of health, as well as meetings of the Department of infectious diseases, participated in conferences, and consulted patients at the Regional infectious diseases hospital. On March 17, her temperature rose. X-rays revealed bilateral pneumonia. Only then did the doctor admit that she had been in Spain. An Express test for the virus showed its presence. People with whom Sannikova was in contact are now being checked out in droves. On the first day of inspections, 11 people passed a positive test. They were all in the doctor's inner circle.

Sannikova herself is kept in an isolated box in The infectious diseases hospital of the region. Her condition is stable, she is disconnected from the ventilator and is breathing on her own. A criminal case was opened against the doctor under the articles "Negligence" and "Concealment of information about circumstances that create a danger to the life or health of people". She could face up to two years in prison.

I'm not a smoker but the cough shaming is definitely a thing where I live. I went shopping on Thursday or Friday and I did have a small coughing fit in a supermarket. The looks of terror were rather intimidating. I looked at a cashier and said "It's not what you think, I choked on a cookie", but although he smiled, he looked like he was about to faint.

Same thing goes for coughing in the street. I've come to a conclusion that coughing is a perfect mugger :ninja:

Seriously, I clearly had no other symptoms and wasn't on my deathbed. Given the current situation I can understand the concern that I may have had the virus. But I'd think seeing someone perfectly healthy, with no other noticeable symptoms but a cough, would make people re-think the alleged deadliness of covid.
But nope, no such conclusions are drawn :cuckoo:

Did you also see strange reactions to people coughing in public, or is it just me? In the last week I witnessed several incidents when people coughed. In the tram yesterday, for example, a girl coughed, briefly and not even loudly, and two other peeps got up and seated a little more distanced to her.

On a public bus about a month ago and pre-lockdown, I cleared my throat. No cough. The reaction of people (not 1 person, 3 people) physically moving mid-journey to other seats away from me was noticeable. Personally I am prone to getting colds and get annoyed if someone sneezes or coughs in my face, which does occasionally happen, but on the reciprocal this was at another level.
