And it sounds like book seven is covering new topics, that means is a new book, with information not covered in the online series? Or maybe goes into more and specific detail, because the "negative-feedback" system got mentioned in the online series…

Hi Gimpy, this is stated in the afterword of "wave" book 5 for example:

As some readers may know, "the wave" and "adventures" seires were originally published online[…]. Thus, we have decided to publish the series in multiple volumes. The originally published Wave material is concluded in volumes one, two, three, four, and eight. Books five, six, and seven include material originally published as "the adventures series"[…]
[…]
Note: With exception of books five and six, the wave books can be read in any order.

Almost Human contains the final chapters originally published online as the Adventures Series. However, new material has been added, and the whole thing has been newly edited. Whereas the book follows the material in books 5 and 6 (which followed more of an autobiographic narrative, and do provide context for the research in this book), Almost Human can be read as a stand-alone volume. It contains Laura's original thoughts on psychopathy and its relation to hyperdimensional reality, many of which concepts were eventually re-discovered in Ponerology. So, I don't see a problem with reading the book before the previous volumes, but I do recommend reading them all eventually.
