An off-the-top-of-my-head idea: I'd like to propose that these several G. quotes get turned into Giclee posters and the donations/proceeds go 100% directly to the Cassiopaea Forum. Is anyone interested in the idea? If not, that's OK. The benefit would be shared by all. just asking.

Might want to make sure there isn't some sort of copyright on G's likeness held by his foundation or anything before selling them.

Thanks. I have an inquiry made at the Gurdjieff Foundation in New York just the same to make sure. But in my experience art made from archival photos are not subject to the same restrictions as using the photos directly. The graphics are mine to give.

That makes sense, but considering it is his likeness and his quotation, it's a good idea that you are checking.

3D Student: That made me laugh out loud! It's actually a Persian wool hat called an astrakhan.

While waiting to hear back from the Gurdjieff institute I'm thinking of picking a different quote anyway. One more rigorous and less lovey dovey. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think that's a good idea

Here's some Gurdjieff quotes to consider:

If you want to lose your faith, make friends with a priest.

Laughter relieves us of superfluous energy, which, if it remained unused, might become negative, that is, poison. Laughter is the antidote.

It is impossible to recognize a wrong way without knowing the right way.

I ask you to believe nothing that you cannot verify for yourself.

Here there are neither Russians nor English, Jews nor Christians, but only those who pursue one aim — to be able to be.

Patience is the mother of will.

I think Jerry posted some great quotes here, but that the one you selected is also good. Perhaps it could be considered "lovey dovey," but there's still a good lesson in it, IMO.

Thank you Scarlet. I'm a cat lover, and contributor to the LA/SPCA, so it's a meaningful quote to me also. And Jerry, I appreciate the extra quotes. Haven't decided which one yet. What I'm looking for is one that resonates the most with people and thus makes it useful to sell and motivate donations.

I've just been contacted by the director of The Gurdjieff Foundation in New York and he's impressed with the graphics. Their lawyers are looking into the legal points of my request and they'll be getting back to me shortly. They seem to think it's "fair use" too.

Got a "green light" from The Gurdjieff Foundation! They even want some for themselves.
Now, does anybody here want to purchase an approximately 11'x 17" giclee print poster one of the three shown and donate to The Cass Forum? Cost would be $25 (US dollars) plus national/international postal rates to be determined.

I'll buy one.

Jerry, since the poster above, is in flux, YOU get to choose your quote. :D There are two others posted in this "Creative Acts" section" too. I'll find out costs if you'll please inbox your postal address to determine economical shipping costs, so that we don't have to do this here on the forum. Once I have art and cost in hand, we can make arrangements. Thanks for your enthusiasm.
