Any advice for my father?

The Living Force
My father with his cancer has worsened. It has taken part of a kidney and part of the lungs, with several nodules. Three days ago restarted chemotherapy, which may be one of the most aggressive out there. I went with him to see a specialist in orthomolecular medicine, which proposed, along with chemotherapy, a therapy with large doses of vitamin C (also other things, such as EDTA, coenzyme Q 10, melatonin, etc.). My question is about the amount of vitamin C. The doctor said that each session will administer about 6 grams. That's good or still to little in a case of advanced cancer?. I would appreciate any indication. Thanks.

If you have an orthomolecular doctor advising, best to go with his recommendations.

Thank you very much Laura, you're right. Just wanted to know because I read on the internet which were generally 15 grams to start (there are some cases where the dose was of hundreds of grams!). Anyway, in this I have no knowledge or power to make any decisions. I just can accompany my father. Thank you again.

It's really a good thing that your father has even considered orthomolecular medicine! Most wouldn't.

As for the doses, it could have something to do with that fact that he is having chemo, and they have to go slowly with a parallel treatment? I don't know, but in any case, I don't think it can hurt. Some support can already help a lot. And you could take your other findings to this doctor and ask him what he thinks.

Wishing your father all the best!

Thank you, Chu! Yes, I will share info with the doctor. And although he said nothing about to go gradually augmenting the dose, he may also do so in a future. I will Inform what happens to the treatment of my father.

Same here. Keep us updated if you can.

Well, my father has gone to 3 sessions of orthomolecular medicine, and his doctor confirmed that he will rise the dose of vitamin C. My father says that he feels better, so this is something to emphasize. He is also trying to adapt to a paleo diet. I gave him many SOTT articles on diet, but still has a hard time for changing this. And obviously because, as Laura said, is not a diet but a lifestyle. Now my father, that is a doctor too, is convinced that cancer is, principally, a metabolic disease. Regrets not to have known this a long time ago.
I have some hope but he is hopeless. It's horrible to say, but he already warned me that if the pain increased again he will kill himself. I think the physical pain he feels are not so great as the moral, and his pride prefers the suicide than be killed by a disease. He is also very scared. Everything is pretty sad.
While all this happens, I heard that his current partner is pregnant. Life is very strange.

Very sorry to hear about your father, IADF.

In case you or your father haven't read this, this article was interesting:

Staying off carbs and sugars seems to be very important when fighting cancer. Perhaps an IR sauna-blanket could help him with the pain?

Best wishes!

Make sure also to take care of yourself, there's a great video Laura posted not too while ago
on the topic, I'm sure you could find something useful for yourself and your father.

Take care and I hope your father recovers.

Thank you very much, Aragorn.
I've already sent him the article. It is very interesting because it can help to see and resolve certain contradictions that is having my father. I mean, follow their colleagues or not. Even his oncologist told him that not going to do orthomolecular medicine, which gave me so much violence, and that is the reason because my father does this parallel treatment with so many doubts.

I'll see if I can get this product in the area where I live. And as for the diet, I always remember to him that this change is imperative. But he has trouble, because has sixty years of eating badly.
Thank you very much again, Aragorn. Also thanks Anthony, Gaby and SeekinTruth. I really appreciate that.

Sorry to hear of your father's illness IADF, the good thing is he is trying the orthomolecular medicine, something you can help him with.

I wish your father well and look after yourself too. :hug2: :hug2:
