Any GOOD horror movies?

The 2016 remake of the Blair Witch Project blows the original out of the water. It's intense and the suspense almost killed me (had me leaving the theatre) but I stuck it out.

Previously l'd have given the title of scariest movie to The Ring. The cinematography is what really drives the creepiness into the bones.

I hate horror movies, my dad used to watch them when I was a kid. I was too scared to not be in the room so I stayed with him while they were on, I had nightmares most of my childhood because of them.

The Blair Witch Project was the only one I ever wilfully watched when I was 19 and pregnant with my first kid, I figured I needed to toughen up because I was about to be a mum and needed to have some balls about me if I was going to protect my child.

It was terrifying in 1999 I can’t imagine what the remake is like. I’m scared just thinking about it :scared:

I'm sorry you went through that as a child. That's not fair.

I watched the original for the first time last year I think and it didn't scare me, it was more of an annoyance. I mean, the acting was whiney and annoying. In addition, they just walked in circles in the forest. The remake is ACTUALLY scary. At the end you see the witch. They expanded upon the scenes at the witch house too and made them quite intense and frightening. I'm having trouble finding better words to drive the point home because at one point while they're still in the forest I felt so anxious, almost as if a force was driving me to leave the theatre. Maybe I need to improve my vocabulary.

Sounds truly horrible, I’m glad no one is going to make me watch it…. or should I do it as an exercise for becoming less of a pussy? I mean, who knows what lies ahead.

I don't think it's necessary. I've been through some traumatic events and they haven't made me stronger or less anxious... That's a long story though.

When I saw The Ring in theatres circa 2003? The first shock scene caused me to feel like I might pass out. I covered my eyes for awhile after. Nowadays I guess I can stick the tough ones out as I did with the blair witch 2016.

It's not necessary to torture yourself but that doesn't mean if curiosity struck you that you couldn't give it a shot and turn it off if it became too much. Maybe try watching the ring first.

OR DON'T. The world is your oyster :)
