Ok but don't you think that the increasing between 2006 and 2007 are really due to NEOs increasing? I don't think they make so much progress in their programs -in one year- which explain alone all these observations. We are just in the beginning of year and the number of 2006 is already over !

Actually the figures displayed for year 2007 in Table 1 and Table 2 are cumulative figures (see last columns). So it's logical that 2007 figures (even if done in January) are higher than 2006 figures.

So those official data still back up the official story : there are more observed objects because observation programs are more numerous and more powerful.

But, even if that were true (which I do not believe), even that argument lends some indirect support to the idea that more NEO's are coming our way these days, i.e.:

Why would the government pour more money and manpower into "more numerous and powerful" observation programs if the data trend for NEO's was flat, suggesting a safe, stable future for Earth?

What would be even more interesting is to get the trajectories of these neo's to see where they are coming from. From what I understand many of them are coming from the south (i.e. the direction of the souther cross). This would explain the flurry of activity in Antarctica to construct optical and other spectrum scopes. It would seem the PTB know full well where these objects are coming from.

It's lookin' to be a hellava "hailstorm"!

Interesting, the meteorite fireball in Germany this week also came from the south.

Someone already had the same idea by making his own meteor compilation. In there you will find some of the above videos again and I didn't count the dates of them again. One sighting was declared as space junk from a russian rocket.

The number of samples are little, but most are from 2006. There were some more videos of bright but none or slow moving object I did not put into this list.

Bethlehem – Ma'an – Eyewitnesses in the northern West Bank town of Deir Ballout, near Salfit, reported that a huge ice block landed in the area.

Witnesses reported that unusual crackling sounds could be heard in the area, which astonished the inhabitants of the village who were preparing for evening prayer.

An eyewitness, Raed Mustafa, told Ma'an "while we were preparing for evening prayer, a strange entity around 1 metre squared in size, fell from the heavens causing a sound like whistling. We discovered that it was an ice block weighing about 35kg."

The eyewitnesses said that the weather had been clear with no rain or wind when the ice block fell on Tuesday evening.

There might be different origins for ice falling phenomena.

Concerning the first picture presented in this link, the piece of ice this guy is holding in his hand seems to carry some pink stuff that looks like toilet paper. Isn't it the wastes of a plane toilet that froze during its fallout ?

This being said it doesn't mean that all ice falling phenomena come from plane toilets or plane wings.

The image says: "Fragment of an ice meteorite". It doesn't say that this is THAT ice meteorite. This assasment grows when you read other images as well. One is an image of Palestinians making fun with snow, and the last one is the image of the meteorite from Mars. So it's rather a representation then an image of this specific meteorite. Or this is how I understand it. I might be wrong of course.
