AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES CAUSED BY AN INFECTION?

The "old forgotten pains" cropping up that had been long quiet after diet changes is weird. And most of today was rough. Very tired, foggy. I took NAC, Vit C, milk thistle and ALA. That seemed to help. Most of the day, I was just too tired to fight gravity. Ark used the percussion massager thing on my back and I did my legs to get things stirred up and moving. That seemed to help a bit. Hopefully, I'll get a good night's sleep tonight and begin pulling out of this tomorrow.

Hope you'll feel better today :hug2:

Hang in there. I hope this treatment is effective and leads to less pain in the future. :)

I'm having to conserve my energy, I notice.

Also, very disconcerting: it seems that I have LOTS of floaters in my eyes and have been having a flash of light moving across the lower inside left of my left eye at random times, sometimes in response to movement of that eye.

Are you thinking to get some rest, to save your eyes from the computer, reading, writing?

Maybe get an eye exam? It could be that the Herx reaction has lead to precipitation of inflammatory refuse material intraocularily. But it seems more probable that it is an intermittent reaction. Migraine attacks can also have light flashes as precursors of an attack.

According to this source, if accurate, floaters are very rare as a side effect of metronidazol:

Is your blood pressure good? Do you have any accompanying symptoms that stand out these days?

Do get some much needed rest! :hug2:

Yeah, it would be reassuring if you could get an eye exam to make sure everything is alright with the retina.

Maybe 10-12 years ago I experienced a light of sorts in one eye that lasted about a half hour. It would start small, grow and then fade. Fortunately it didn't happen while driving as it was disorienting. After 4 or 5 episodes of this it was thought to be brief periods of high blood pressure. Someone suggested garlic perls which I took for about 8 weeks, and that seemed to take care of it. So checking for high blood pressure might be useful.

Please have this checked out !!
Just this past January, one of my brothers-in-law experienced a floater that was affecting his work, so he made an eye appointment after 2 days. He was told just to take it easy and rest. It got worse so he went back to the optometrist and this time he was seen by the more experienced doctor in the office. He was told to get to the specialist immediately for possible surgery. He had his surgery the next day and was told after the surgery to NOT lie on his right side (right eye had the surgery) but he must lie on his back. This was told to him by a young assistant in the specialist's office. He went home and rested as told, but it wasn't feeling right the next day so my sister phoned the specialist's office to clarify the instructions. This time she was told he was to NOT lie on his back!!
What an ordeal!
He has recovered DESPITE all the mis-directions.
Apparently the floater can cause serious tears in the retina.

I had flashes around the eye edges, within a few days a silvery bubble stayed constantly. eye doctor took me straight to the hospital for detached retina surgery. he said that needed to be fixed within 24 hours.

Correction:
Apparently the floater can cause be a precursor to serious tears in the retina.

"Correlation is NOT causation"

I had something similar happen about a week or so ago.
I have never experienced anything quite like that before and have had no reoccurrence since the one episode.

Mine was in the right eye, started very low to the ground as a kind of shimmer which remained the same even when I closed my eyes. It slowly moved upward and took on a shape of jagged bright lines, quite like lightning, just below the lightning was a roundish spinning glow.
Again, it was there with eyes open and eyes closed, it made no difference.
It lasted approximately 2 minutes and then just appeared to "rise" above my line of sight and was gone.

Re: AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES CAUSED BY AN AMOEBA INFECTION?

In general, a lot of people experience floaters from a young age. Floaters seen in youth, are usually cellular remnants of a blood vessel that feeds the developing retina. Once the retina is formed, the blood vessel breaks away and dissolves, but sometimes small remnants are still floating in the vitreous and are usually seen in bright sunlight or against a white background.

Near sighted people typically see more floaters as well. Because the eye ball has grown too long, the retina is stretched thin and it is not uncommon for some cells to break off in this process and float around in the vitreous.

If there is a sudden onset of floaters that is cause for more concern, especially if the floater is large, or appears like a flap or a veil or is stationary. A free floating floater is less cause for alarm, meaning, when you try to look at it, it moves out of your line of sight. If free floating, it is no longer attached to the retina and will not cause a hole or tear because it is no longer attached and tugging on the retina. If there are flashes of light, this means the floater is still attached to the retina and the tugging is stimulating the nervous system, which in the eye, is seen as light.

If there is a sudden onset of floaters, this could be a Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD). It is very common as we age and is typically the diagnosis for sudden onset of floaters. A PVD means the vitreous has pulled away from the retina, but it will not cause a loss of vision. It is just the effects of gravity over time. It is mainly an annoyance for most people, until it settles out of the line of sight. If the flashes of light continue, I would certainly recommend a dilated retinal exam. An eye doctor will be able to see the PVD on exam and rule out any holes or tears. If the flashes have stopped, the vitreous face has broken free, although the floaters will still be there.

I hope this helps! And since you are not nearsighted, my best guess is PVD.
