Balancing Lifestyle & Work

Thanks for starting this thread CW. I would like to share some of my insights.

From my experience, there are many paths available to us, many choices, that we either cannot see due to conditioning or are too fearful (consciously or even sub-consciously) to consider.

Several years ago, i lived in constant stress. I was existing not living, working and collecting my children from school, just busy, busy, busy etc etc. My marriage was breaking up too, and i was beginning to 'awaken' also. It was the most turbulent time of my life.

In a nutshell, i began to keep a journal. It gave me the opportunity for outpouring the immense grief i was feeling and also prompted me to write down what was important in my life.

As i was researching the whole fiat money scam (and was questioning everything else about my reality construct), it seemed natural to 'downsize'. I couldn't really afford to keep up my mortgage repayments anyway, post divorce, and didn't want to exchange one financial ball and chain for a slightly smaller version.

What was notable however was, despite my research and working on the maths (selling home with small equity - equals - buying my narrowboat on canal - equals - alot of freedom to create a life i want) i was still quite fearful of taking this 'unconventional' path (social conditioning and loved ones projecting their fear onto me).

Yet i had Faith. I fought for my freedom. It changed my life completely, giving me the time to work part-time, having valuable time with my children, learning to live off-grid, time for reading etc etc.

After a few fantastic years on the boat, i have since 'downsized' to a comfortable caravan in a farmers field, so i could buy a couple of acres in rural Portugal. My Aim is to help develop a Soul Community there.

I know i could use my free time better, to give more, but i have observed that after spending so many years running on societies treadmill, it takes some time to adjust and just be also.

The Cs say learning is fun. Well I guess learning to treat life's challenges and opportunities as adventures, letting go of our limiting emotions as best as we can, is a balanced and fun way to live! :)

Very best wishes on your adventures!

All of your suggestions and ideas have gone a long way for me. Thank you to all who commented/shared :)

I'm off to bed to read and relax after a long work week with much needed self-observation.

P.S. Kudos on mentioning the 12 Daily Exercises for Mind, Body and Soul it is a handy guide.
