I know Bloomberg is not exactly the pinnacle of objectivity, but after reading this article, I much better understand the ongoing show in Washington DC right now, and this article does not give me hope that this will end well. I am seriously considering that this showdown will ultimately collapse the entire US and world economy. Remember, bacteria do not understand that they will die along with the body they attack...

Yep, it will be interesting to see if the fight and gov't shutdown carries over into the debt limit needing raised in late Oct. I've talked to people that are republicans that say let the US default on its debt so that they can get the changes they want without really having any understanding of the consequences of such an event. Interest rates would from my understanding spike and start a cascade that would probably become uncontrollable. The mindset is just bewildering... not just shoot your own foot, but kill the host. So I wonder if the theater of Washington might have a wider impact than I previously thought. People that are out of work are certainly upset and having their lives impacted. What does come across though from both conservative and liberals alike is that they've had enough of the what Congress does and are angry, but they lack the larger perspective on the whole system and real problems.

With the backdrop of increased fireballs, comets whizzing about and the such I wonder, like the speculation on the forum of the gov't shutdown shutting down NASA, if it isn't to distract and kick off economic problems to keep the masses in the dark from the cosmic threat and the earth changes happening.

Hello to you both,

Apologies in advance for the noise of my emotions here but Bear, what you've said has hit me deep. We really are where we thought we were going and it's frightening and .. well, there's just no words.

I guess it's just hang on and whatever will be, will be (we know what that means btw, just we [me] utterly powerless with the force behind all of this).
