Turkey have economy reasons for it or something more?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that beside Russian tourists, German tourists also stopped coming to Turkey, and today there was the following news:

A group of German politicians and public figures have filed a lawsuit against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accusing him of committing war crimes against his country's Kurdish minority.

Basically, both US and Europe threw him under the bus.

Mexico Prepared to Face Financial Volatility From Brexit
The economic relationship between Mexico and the United Kingdom amounts to only 0.7 percent of Mexico's global commerce
Friday June 24, 2016 3 days ago
http://www.thenews.mx/mexico-prepared-to-face-financial-volatility-from-brexit/
Treasury and Public Finance Secretary (SHCP) Luis Videgaray Caso said that Mexico is prepared to face the financial volatility caused by the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. Mexico will continue to strengthen its macroeconomics in order to lessen the blow on the economy.

The Exchange Commission entered a permanent session and will be attentive to the market, he said. In the case of speculation which could affect the peso, it will use the various tools at its disposal, such as the international reserves amounting to $177 billion and its[glow=red,2,300] International Monetary Fund (IMF)[/glow] flexible credit line.

Videgaray Caso said that the Mexican government has already covered 100 percent of its financial needs for 2016 and that the volatility “will not affect the financial needs of the Mexican government.”

To ensure reaching the fiscal goal, he announced a second adjustment to 2016 spending, amounting to 31,715 million pesos ($1.6 billion) which will focus on the current expenditure.

The fall in oil prices has caused a need for an adjustment in public spending. “It is the government’s responsibility to tighten its belt, not Mexican families or businesses. By doing this, we maintain an atmosphere of stability, low-inflation and economic growth, so that Mexican families to have more spending power.”

At a press conference, accompanied by the Mexico Central Bank (Banxico) Deputy Governor Roberto del Cueto and Economy Secretary Ildefonso Guajardo, Videgaray Caso said that the economic relationship between Mexico and the United Kingdom amounts to only 0.7 percent of Mexico’s global commerce.

“We don’t expect that the UK leaving the EU will have an important impact on current expenditure and commerce,” he added.

Brussels thinks we're BLUFFING: EU diplomats say they don't believe Britain will ever formally trigger Brexit despite referendum

Daily Mail, UK - Mon 27 June 2016

Top figures in Brussels don't believe Britain will go through with leaving the EU, with diplomats questioning whether the UK will ever trigger the formal divorce process.

A country leaving the union must formally notify the European Council, setting the clock ticking on a two-year period to negotiate its split.

But a senior EU diplomat said last night that he believes the UK will never actual embark on the move and will end up staying in the union.

Re: Brexit wins, UK to leave the EU

Interesting twist to the situation, French politicians calling for removal of the English language - as one of the official languages of the EU? That should stir up a little dust in the White House?

The United Kingdom plan to leave the EU has caused some member states to question the usefulness of English, and French-speaking politicians have called for the language to be removed as one of the official languages of the European Union.

Brexit Fallout: Should the English Language Exit the EU Along With Britain?
http://sputniknews.com/europe/20160627/1042044503/french-politicians-want-english-our.html

Voices from both the right and left wing of the French political arena are in agreement on the issue. Robert Menard, the mayor of Beziers, a town in southern France, tweeted on Monday that "The English language no longer has any legitimacy in Brussels."

"English can no longer be the third working language of the European Parliament," Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of the French leftist party, added, pointing out that even Ireland, whose official language is Gaelic, wouldn’t oppose such a move.

The European Union has 24 working languages, the main three stemming from the largest nations: Germany, France and the UK.

European blogger Dave Keating implies that such a move would only be symbolic because English doesn’t have any official standing over other languages in the EU.

"The 'three working language' rule has never been codified into law, so there would be no 'legal' basis on which France could challenge the predominance of English, since technically all 24 languages are equal," he said.

"The forces that have made English so powerful are more cultural than governmental."

Keating feels that the impact of the "Brexit” will be more political and economic than linguistic.

"It isn't only in Europe that English is the main means of inter-cultural communication," he writes, "It is a global phenomenon. A Brexit isn't going to change that. So while it might seem a strange situation for a post-Brexit EU to continue using English as its main language, I can't see it going any other way. But, I imagine, that wouldn't stop the French from trying."

Last Thursday’s Brexit referendum vote resulted in 52% of voters calling for Britain to leave the continental organization.

Can the U.K. Parliament Veto Brexit? Your Questions Answered
June 27, 2016
The stunning outcome of last week’s U.K. referendum has unleashed waves of doubt about what happens next. Here’s a list of the latest questions doing the rounds:
Can the result somehow be overturned?

This comes up again and again. In short, it’s possible, but unlikely. The referendum is non-binding, so the next prime minister could just choose to ignore it. If there’s a snap election, a political party could promise to call a new referendum. Scotland could also make things difficult.

Still, it would be extremely difficult to ignore the views of the 17.4 million people who voted to leave. We delve into this issue in more detail here and here.
Could the U.K. parliament veto the referendum?

In theory, yes. Human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson argues in this article that parliamentary assent is needed to repeal the 1972 legislation that took the U.K. into the EU. So lawmakers could override the public will by refusing to remove that law from the statute books.

Others aren’t so sure. Raoul Ruparel of the Open Europe think tank says that the legislative body can certainly apply political pressure on the government. But once Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty is triggered, Britain would have to leave the EU after two years, regardless of what parliament does.

And the question remains as to whether lawmakers would risk angering voters by blocking the referendum. Especially as it was backed by supporters of both major political parties.
What have we learned about the government’s Brexit plans?

We got a few bits and pieces in the past 24 hours. A new EU unit will be set up in government to start doing the groundwork. It will comprise of officials from the Treasury, the Cabinet Office, the Business Department and the Foreign Office. Conservative lawmaker Oliver Letwin, who heads the Cabinet Office, will ensure all points of view across the political spectrum are fed into the process.

Boris Johnson, the favorite to succeed Cameron as prime minister, wrote in an op-ed that there will continue to be access to Europe’s single market and EU citizens living in the U.K. He disclosed almost no specifics.

Ultimately we are no closer to knowing what the U.K.’s relationship with the world’s biggest trading bloc will look like when the secession is completed.
When will we have a new prime minister?

With stocks plunging and the pound hitting new lows, the Conservative Party’s grandees today said a new leader will be elected by Sept. 2. That’s nearly a month earlier than originally planned by Cameron.
Just how bad could the U.K. recession be?

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the result is already spreading a chill through the economy. Property transactions are being canceled, Easyjet Plc lost nearly a quarter of its value Monday after saying the result will hurt business for the rest of the summer and Airbus Group SE said it’s reviewing its investment strategy in Britain. Nomura Holdings Inc. estimates that the economy could contract almost 2 percent from peak to trough.

That compares with a 6 percent slump during the financial crisis of 2008-2009.
Why does the Labour Party crisis matter if it’s not in power?

With the country mired in its biggest political crisis in decades, the opposition matters because it will push the government on its weak spots and can force concessions on issues such as immigration and market access. Should Cameron’s successor call an election in coming months, Labour will need to clarify its position on Brexit as its leader could be forming the next government.
What is the ‘Shadow Cabinet’ anyway?

Essentially, it’s the Labour Party’s government-in-waiting. Until Sunday, it consisted of 31 people, each with the task of holding a particular government minister to account. With criticism of Corbyn’s leadership style mounting an unprecedented revolt is underway. Since Sunday, 18 members have quit and at least 40 lawmakers have left his wider team.
So will Corbyn quit?

Probably not. He was elected just nine months ago by almost 60 percent of the party membership. He is still popular with them and hence difficult to dislodge. The problem for Labour’s plotters is that the base was swollen by an influx of new left-wing members when membership rules were changed last year. Corbyn, who tweeted on June 23 that he voted “Remain," has said he intends to stand if a leadership vote is triggered.

Excellent demonstration of how undemocratic the EU is. WHY is Merkle telling the rest of EU what to do, surely that is a decision to be taken by ALL the members, and NOT dicated by one country, Germany. She obviously does not understand, this statement is one of the reasons people want out of the EU.

We must act to prevent countries from fleeing EU – Merkel

German chancellor Angela Merkel says action is needed to prevent other EU members from leaving the bloc after Britain.

The remark was made at Merkel’s conservative party’s board on Monday, according to two participants who spoke to Reuters.

She also touched upon market uncertainty provoked by the UK referendum on leaving the EU. Merkel said there is concern in the international financial markets that Brexit is a sign of the European Union no longer being governable.

Superstate instead of the EU – France and Germany ultimatum

OUR NEWS: superstate instead of the European Union – an ultimatum to France and Germany

The project also envisages the introduction of a uniform visa system and conduct a common foreign policy with other countries and international organizations. The document may also arise, it would be limiting the role of NATO in the European continent.

In the preamble of the text, France and Germany wrote: “Our countries share a common destiny and a common set of values that give rise to an even closer union between our citizens. We will therefore strive for a political union in Europe and invite the next Europeans to participate in this venture. ”

Nine pages of the document leaves no doubt as to the shape which it intends to adopt the state, which prepared the document.

The document read in part: “The threat of security of one country is equal to the danger of others, so we believe that our security is one and indivisible. We believe that the European Union and European security order is part of our fundamental interests, and we will defend them in all circumstances. France and Germany share a common vision of Europe as a union of security, based on solidarity and mutual assistance between Member States, supporting the common security and defense policy. Ensuring the security of Europe, as well as participation in building global peace and stability, they are at the heart of the European project. ”

Germany and France propose the establishment of the body called “European Security Compact”, dealing with “all aspects of security and defense at the European level”, thereby “ensuring the safety of EU citizens at all levels.”

Another bit of news along with the Superstate is disconcerting and once again gives the feeling that Nazi Germany was just a trial run by the ptb: _http://sputniknews.com/europe/20160628/1042050232/nato-nazi-ss-brussels-hitler.html
NATO Unveils New Headquarters Inspired by the Nazi SS Lightning Bolts?

What is likely an unfortunate design fail is nonetheless disconcerting in the wake of the military coalition’s major buildup along the Russian border, led by German troops.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) caused a stir in recent weeks with the announcement of its newly constructed headquarters "for you and for future generations." The building features a design pattern eerily reminiscent of the Nazi "SS" lightning bolts.

The Nazi imagery comes in the footsteps of Germany leading the massive Anaconda War Games. Involving over 30,000 NATO troops, the drills will take place in Poland on the 75th anniversary of the German invasion of the Soviet Union.

The provocation is the single largest buildup of foreign troops in Poland since World War II, and is also the first time German soldiers have been stationed in the Eastern European nation since the fall of the Nazi regime.

While former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder called the build-up on the anniversary of the Nazi invasion a "serious mistake," the alliance’s most recent use of Hitler-inspired imagery has mostly just led to widespread mockery by social media pundits asking if it was purely coincidence.

This isn’t the first time that the US-led military coalition has been marred by Nazism — intentional or otherwise. A shocking video was previously posted to YouTube that allegedly shows a range of German SS symbols being worn by NATO troops.

There also exists a history of Nazi inclusion amongst NATO leadership, despite public relations efforts portraying the groups as diametric opposites. Notably, Adolf Hitler’s Chief of the General Staff of the Army Adolf Heusinger also served as the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee from 1961 to 1964.

I know it's just a football match, but I think that's the greatest upset in the sport, ever! Iceland has a population of 300,000, and some of its footballers are part-time players! It's very symbolic for that to have happened now.

Yes, I watched the game and thought it highly symbolic also. This really was a David defeating Goliath moment in English football history! :D

Or perhaps in light of Merkel's recent call for "action", was a Brexit type event always intended to be the trigger for a much closer alliance between the remaining member states - effectively creating an EU 'super-state' run by Germany?

Here in the UK, there is a sense of great uncertainty and a lot of emotionally driven rhetoric, particularly from the younger folk who feel betrayed by the older 'vote Leave' campaigners. It feels like the 'calm before the storm'.

Yes that was new - another social divide along age this time. Presumably the older generation have too much money compared to everyone else (and excuse to take away pensions and retirement benefits)?

Did you listen to the video he embedded in it?

That's PJ Watson, Jarhead Jones' British sidekick. That diatribe undermines the author's argument that this vote was likely meaningless.

The author really wants to believe, like the 'Info-warrior', that his country is white as snow relative to 'the evil globalists'.

Newsflash: the 'evil banking elite' ARE the British regime! The UK has been their primary vehicle of world domination for over 300 years!

I didn't listen to the video initially, but listened to it now - geez, what was that!? If he sneaked it in like that in an otherwise interesting article (IMO), then it's really fishy. It reminds me of the right-wing "alternative sites" in Germany where they post some very good articles, only to sneak in blatant Xenophobia and Muslim-blaming/bashing. And yes, what he says about "good old Britain" is really simplistic, though I can kind of understand where he is coming from.

What I found interesting in the article was the message that voting doesn't make sense and doesn't give people any real power and the image of the sheep and goats. Also, that he says Britain should have never joined the EU - Yanis Varoufakis made a similar point (before the vote) which I found interesting; he said that Britain should have never joined the EU/that the EU should never have developed the way it did in the first place, but now that's a reality and we should all work together, and that's why he is against a Brexit, whereas he was for the Scottish referendum. I think this is the kind of discussion that is actually helpful.

But yes, rereading the article now with the "right-wing" angle in mind, although the author made some important points IMO, there are a couple of red flags. Articles like that may contribute to the division of people, and I think this is the last thing we need right now.
I hadn't watched the video until now and it gives a completely different spin on how I intially interpreted the article. I probably need to ensure look at all the data included before I comment in future. My eye isn't trained well enough though to spot the author been on the same page as the info warrior even though i've re-read the article a number of times.
