DIICOT raids brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, accused of abducting two girls
The two Britons, Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, in whose villa the prosecutors and the police found in April two young women, one with American citizenship and one Romanian, were targeted on Thursday, December 29, by DIICOT raids, judicial sources told Libertatea .
UPDATE 11.30pm: Andrew and Tristan Tate have been detained for 24 hours . A criminal case was opened on behalf of the two British brothers in which they are being investigated for human trafficking and rape.
Initial news: Tristan and Andrew Tate will be taken to hearings at DIICOT during the day, being suspected of forming an organized criminal group that used girls for adult videos, according to Libertatea information.
In April, two young women, one of whom has American citizenship, were found in a villa in Voluntari by police and prosecutors. The women claimed they were held by force by the two British brothers. On April 11 , Tristan and Andrew Tate were questioned for five hours at DIICOT, then released but inquiries continued.

Tristan and Andrew Tate are British citizens, kickboxing practitioners, who moved to Romania a few years ago. Millionaire Tristan Tate is known as a former kickboxing champion and ex-boyfriend of Bianca Drăgușanu. In September 2018, Bianca Drăgușanu admitted that she broke up with Tristan Tate, saying that they promised each other not to attack each other in public.
Andrew Tate first rose to prominence after appearing on the TV show Big Brother in 2016, when he was kicked out of the competition after a video surfaced of him beating a woman outside the show.
He stated on Twitter in 2017 that women belong in the home and that rape victims "bear responsibility" for their assault , after which Twitter permanently banned him from the platform.
In a YouTube video, Andrew Tate described himself as "an absolute misogynist". He said: “I'm realistic and when you're realistic you're sexist. You can't be grounded in reality and not be sexist."
