I guess if the Harper government is going to invest in war propaganda, they'll also expect some dividends.

Oppose war? Gosh! Then you're also trying to take away jobs from those 'Hard Working Canadians' I hear so much about.

Harper's government is despicable; truly it is a slippery slope headed towards full blown pathocracy. There is yet hope for this country, but if Harper is reelected this year we stand a snowballs chance in hell of things getting any better before they get a lot worse.

For an insightful analysis of Harper's right-wing authoritarian mindset, I would recommend Michael Harris' "Party of One: Stephen Harper And Canada's Radical Makeover."
I think another thread discussed this book, but I can't remember which one. Anyway I've got the first two chapters under my belt, and so far it's a very interesting and revealing read.
My take on it, fwiw.

Just completed. The book gives excellent insight how a psychopath in a position of power uses that power to manipulate and exploit the populace, in this case the Canadian people.
This guy is scary.
