On the flip side, NATO starts ‘very high readiness’ force drills in Poland
http://rt.com/news/266170-spearhead-drills-nato-poland/

NATO’s newly formed rapid response force; designed to strengthen the “defensive” alliance’s eastern borders against the perceived Russian threat, has launched its first full deployment military drills in Poland.

“This is the first full deployment of the new force,” NATO spokesman, Polish Colonel Marek Pietrzak, told AFP.

The Noble Jump 2 exercises at the Zagan training range in the north west of Poland will last until June 19. It is featuring some 2,100 soldiers from nine NATO states. The servicemen form the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), created last year at the NATO Summit in the UK, is in response to a perceived Russian threat.

G7 leaders escalate war threats against Russia
http://rinf.com/alt-news/newswire/g7-leaders-escalate-war-threats-russia/

(WSWS) – During their second day of discussions in the resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the German Alps on Monday, the leaders of the major imperialist powers affirmed their commitment to a policy of escalating strategic and military pressure against Russia.

Last week, US defense officials testifying before the US House of Representatives indicated that the Pentagon is considering launching pre-emptive strikes against Russian targets, including with nuclear weapons (see: US officials consider nuclear strikes against Russia). These statements are no doubt now being carefully studied by the Russian military.

NATO’s recently-formed Rapid Response Force, which has been assembled to serve as the spearhead of a NATO ground war against Russian forces, is set to conduct military exercises in Poland starting today. The so-called “Baltops” exercises are to involve thousands of US-NATO troops and will take place simultaneously in Sweden, Germany and the Baltic Sea.

The US and European ruling elites’ strategy of endlessly bullying Russia by threatening it with war and nuclear strikes poses immense dangers to the world’s population. Even assuming that the ruling elites of the NATO powers are not immediately seeking to provoke outright war with Russia, the constant drumbeat of NATO threats and military exercises immensely heightens the danger of war breaking out accidentally.

Russian leaders have already warned that they are on alert for signs of an imminent first strike by NATO and are holding Russian nuclear forces ready to respond to such an attack, should it come (see: Russian President Putin says Ukraine crisis threatens nuclear war).

Ukraine to place S-300 antiaircraft missiles on border with Transdniestria
http://tass.ru/en/world/800123

Ukrainian authorities will deploy S-300 antiaircraft missile complexes on the border with Transdniestria - a mostly Slavic-populated breakaway region of Moldova that has existed as an unrecognized Dniester Republic since the early 1990.

A report published by Odessa-based Taimer newspaper quoted the Ukrainian Defence Ministry officials as saying the missile complexes will be deployed in the Bolgrad district of the Odessa region.

"Officials at the war ministry said the S-300 missiles will ensure defence of the country in the south of the Odessa region on the border with the Dniester Republic," Taimer said.

In the light of it, Dniester Republic President Yevgeny Shevchuk expressed concern over the bellicose moods in Kiev.

"We’re concerned by the fact," he said. "The Dniester leadership is acting with maximum openness in this situation. We’ve made proposals more than once to the (European security organization) OSCE, the Ukrainian embassy, other partners in the Five-plus-Two negotiations format (embracing Moldova, Transdniestria, Russia, Ukraine, the OSCE, as well as the US and the EU in the capacity of observers - TASS) to come over to us and to see for themselves that there are absolutely no military preparations on our side."

"We’re astonished by the OSCE’s reluctance to bring this fact to public awareness," Shevchuk said.

He said an antitank ditch was being dug at the Kiev government’s instruction along the border with the unrecognized republic, while special block posts with armored vehicles assigned to them had been installed on automobile roads and thousands of army servicemen had been redeployed to the area.

"People in the Odessa and Vinnitsa regions (the regions of Ukraine located along the border with Transdniestria - TASS) are scared by what’s happening in Donbass where rank-and-file people are dying," Shevchuk said. "They are afraid war is about to come to their homes as well."

"On the other hand, these statements (on the part of Ukrainian officialdom - TASS) apparently seek to discredit Russia and its peacekeepers deployed on the banks of the Dniester River," he believes.

Donetsk notes movement of heavy weapons in Artyomovsk, Krasnogorovka
http://tass.ru/en/world/800016

The reconnaissance of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic has identified redeployment of heavy weapons in the area of Krasnogorovka and Artyomovsk, the spokesman for the republic’s Defence Ministry, Eduard Basurin, has said.

"The Donetsk Republic’s reconnaissance units continue to identify ever more redeployments of Ukrainian military equipment and personnel," the Donetsk News Agency quotes Basurin as saying. "Two self-propelled artillery pieces 2S5 Giatsint have been registered in the village of Artyomovsk. The location of two self-propelled artillery pieces has been identified between the villages of Krasnogorovka and Zhelannoye Pervoye.

Earlier on Wednesday the Donetsk Defence Ministry said that over the past 24 hours the local communities have come under 41 fire attacks by the Ukrainian military. Two militiamen and six civilians were killed.

The DPR`s Foreign Minister: not only Crimea but Donetsk is a part of Russia
http://mid-dnr.ru/en/news/glava-mid-dnr-ne-tolko-krym-no-i-doneck-chast-rossii-0306

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Alexander Kofman gave a comment to REGNUM reporter on June 9 on casus of mentioning Crimea and Sevastopol in offered by the LPR and the DPR amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution. «The only thing I can say is that I didn’t take part in work over these texts. I heard comments of both Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deinego on first of all, the DPR and the LPR do not have a right to change the Constitution in other issues except Donetsk and Luhansk, and secondly that they didn’t want to undermine the situation. From my subjective point of view, this is a very strange formulation to say the least», - he explained.

According to Mr. Kofman, this document would not have legal consequences. «At the present moment Crimea is a part of the Russian Federation, and amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution can be various. It can be written there, that Crimea is a capital of Ukraine, but it wouldn’t influence on its state and territorial location», - Kofman told. He stated that had no doubts about state affiliation of Crimea and Sevastopol. «I consider not only Crimea and Sevastopol but Donetsk to be a part of Russia», - the Minister said.

It should be mentioned that earlier in the text of «Annex and Amendments of the DPR and the LPR to the Constitution of Ukraine» introduced by the representatives of Republics to the Contact Group on settlement of the conflict in Donbass, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol were included in the system of the administrative and territorial structure of Ukraine while being a part of Russia.

which of course speaks for the ability of Kiev to conduct any succesful warfare.

I am reminded of Chernobyl. In Russian Chernobyl is "Чернобыль" which was the place where a nuclear reactor was damanged beyond repair 1986. If you enter Черно быль in translate.yandex.ru you get "black and true story" which is strangely accurate as Kiev attracts a lot of black smoke, just ask Porosjenko.

Your comment struck me thorbiorn. Some of my relatives were among the liquidators of Chernobyl catastrophe impact which damaged their health and I often return in my thoughts to that accident in a similar way that you described above.

It is interesting to know that "Черно быль" can be translated as a "black and true story". Indeed, the word "быль" means "true story/history." But the word "быль/быльё/былинка" has also another ancient meaning - "grass." So this phrase can also be translated as "black grass."

I remember reading about the ancient history of that place. Ancient peoples always avoided Chernobyl: they didn't want to settle there or even feed their cattle there - perhaps that is why the place was called "black grass." It is possible that it was ecologically unfriendly long before the 1986 tragedy.

But there came the bureaucrats and built the nuclear plant in the area against all "superstitions." The result is well-known.

Your comment that "Kiev attracts a lot of black smoke" now is so true. One month ago there was a severe forest fire in Chernobyl area again.

Kiev was once the center of the "glorious Keivan Rus Empire." And now it seems that its "glorious past" is returning to it as a boomerang in the form of black smoke. Look at the Dnieper river below: it is flowing to the Black Sea - a poisonous sea, by the way.

I tried to find the stories about people who avoided the area, but was not succesful, although I found the meaning "black grass". In the English Wikipedia they also write:

About the possible uses, (with a new age stretch :) ) of Common Wormwood, see http://altnature.com/thegarden/Mugwort.htm In Ukraine a lot of people will probably resort to the pharmacy of nature, when money is low.

The general history of Chernobyl, which officially began in 1193, is interesting in its own right, and gives an account of a town that has been settled by many faiths, occupied and fought over. Americans sign a petition asking Obama to nuke Russia (video) - http://fortruss.blogspot.ru/2015/06/americans-sign-petition-asking-obama-to.html

Russians comment both on the agressiveness and stupidity of the US citizens signing. I wonder though what would be the result if one was allowed to do a stunt like that in Moscow (probably the police would stop it) - I heard some nasty comments here in Moscow on what to do with the US, Ukrainian, EU, Nato, especially after consummation of half a bottle of vodka. The clip shows more that people in the US are deep asleep and dont even hear the question IMO.

It seems a similiar experiment was done in Crimea and the results are quiet different from the US.

http://fortruss.blogspot.ru/2015/06/the-battle-of-petitions-who-wants-to.html

The way questions was formulated was different though, which could have an inlfuence on how people answered. Stating that you want to find out how 'bloodthirsty' people are, is a great primer to insure the result will be otherwise.

- We are here in Crimea, in a sunny Alushta. We, Komsomolskaya Pravda, will conduct a social experiment. An American blogger came out on a beach and asked the public to sign a petition to nuke Russia. We decided to see how blood-thirsty Crimeans really are and ask them to sign a petition t0 nuke America.

Strange. In thinking why this could be, my mind drifted to what T.C Lethbridge often talked about - as example:

Wiki said:
Lethbridge believed that ghosts were projections stored in rock and other material substances and which echoed particularly emotional or traumatic events that either happened in the past or will happen in the future

In this thread with the C's, while talking about ghosts, the C's reply:

Q: ...(Belibaste) What was the name of our ghost? Was it Michael?

A: It is mostly a replay. So no need of a name.

Q: (Andromeda) So it's not really like a ghost or spirit. It's a replay like a recording. (L) Funny that it happened along that drive, where the water flows. (Perceval) Lethbridge.

A: Yes.

So perhaps the "black grass" back then, Chernobyl, was in replay mode "which echoed particularly emotional or traumatic events" from the future to the past. People and animals even sensed it, don't know.

Hmm, that's an interesting take, voyageur. Might well be part of what's going on.
