The move comes after Lithuania and the United Kingdom increased their security assistance to Ukraine, the department said, following the Nov. 25 attack near the Kerch Strait.

“The United States calls on Russia to immediately return to Ukraine the seized vessels and detained Ukrainian crews, to keep the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov open to ships transiting to and from Ukrainian ports, and to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the State Department added.

Russia opened fire on the Ukrainian ships and then seized them and their crews near Crimea - which Russia annexed from Ukraine in March 2014. The Kerch Strait is the only outlet to the Sea of Azov and controls access to two major Ukrainian ports.

The incident prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to call off a meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin in Argentina to signal Washington’s disapproval of Russian behavior in the naval clash with Ukraine.

A Reuters witness saw the jets land at Belbek air base in Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014 after Moscow-leaning Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich fled Kiev following street clashes and violent protests.

Tensions between Moscow and Kiev have risen in the past weeks after Russia seized three Ukrainian navy ships and their crews on Nov. 25 in an incident which Moscow and Kiev have blamed on each other.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has alleged Ukraine was preparing “a provocation” near Crimea before the end of the year.

After the decision made by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on November 27, the parishes of the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox churches in Western Europe are in a brown study on their future. However, they have no choice, really. The resolution of the Synod clearly obliges them to be distributed among the local dioceses of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. If they join any other ecclesiastical jurisdiction, it is most likely that the Phanar will break off canonical relations with them. And the unilateral proclamation of independence will lead them in schism and cause losing of recognition in the Orthodox world.

The governing bodies of the Archdiocese are located in Paris, France. Most parishes and monasteries are also located in this country. Thus, if they decide to comply with the resolution of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, they will be headed by the Metropolitan of France, Emmanuel Adamakis. Will it contribute to the integration of believers of the Russian tradition into the structures of the Ecumenical Patriarchate? Most likely it won’t.

And the problem is not just in the arrogant attitude of the Ecumenical Patriarchate hierarchs to non-Greek believers, resulting in the existence of parallel national jurisdictions under the rule of Constantinople in territories that already have their Greek bishops of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (for example, the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches in the USA and Canada overlapping with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America).

There is one more significant factor: even the Greek believers themselves are not enthusiastic about the reign of Metropolitan Emmanuel. For example, His Eminence has been criticized for promoting unworthy hierarchs, covering frauds and intrigues that ensured their career success. He is also accused of ignoring the immorality and sexual misconduct of the subordinate clergy. For example, police has documented a case of sexual harassment of a parishioner by Fr. Nicholas Kakavelakis. However, Metropolitan Emmanuel did nothing in response.

As a director of the Office of the Orthodox Church under the auspices of the European Union, and then Vice-President of the Council of European Churches, Metropolitan Emmanuel regularly meets with politicians and leaders of various non-governmental organizations whose liberal positions greatly contradict the teaching of the Church. At the same time, he does not communicate concerns of the Orthodox believers about this clearly. Did he express the worries of his flock about the legalization of same-sex marriage by President Hollande in 2013? Did he bring attention to the anti-Christian tendencies in Western society during his meetings with representatives of other churches? Absolutely not.

On the contrary, Metropolitan Emmanuel is a regular guest at the annual galas of the Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions (Conseil Représentatif des Institutions juives de France, CRIF) – an organization that maintains friendly contacts with the French Jewish LGBT group Beit Haverim!

Moreover, there are loud rumors about himself being an alleged sodomite. For example, during his vacation in Lesbos, he was seen in the company of a young man and their relationships were very suspicious. It seems that it was too embarrassing for eyewitnesses to describe what they unwittingly heard from the Orthodox bishop. CNN Calls Crimean City Russian, Catches Flak From Ukraine's US Embassy

Crimea dramatically broke off from Ukraine and rejoined Russia in March 2014 following a peninsula-wide referendum, a month after a Western-backed coup rocked Kiev and overthrew Ukraine's democratically elected government.

Ukraine's Embassy in the United States has posted a tweet to its "friends from @CNN", urging the broadcaster to "do better fact checking and content choice" over a photo report showing New Year's celebrations around the world which included a photo from Simferopol, capital of Russia's Crimea Republic.

Claiming that Simferopol is "a Ukrainian city…occupied by Russia," the embassy urged CNN not to "follow Russia's playbook" regarding it and the peninsula's status.

The Ukrainian Embassy in the US wasn't the only one to spot CNN's New Year's report. The Twitter account of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Crimea tweeted out its thanks to the broadcaster for its congratulations.

The Russian Embassy in Canada sent out a similarly cheery greeting, which was retweeted by the Russian Embassy in the US.

The Ukrainian Embassy's tweet sparked a minor debate in the comments, with most users praising the network, while conspiracy theorists accused the "Kremlin" of somehow "bribing Western news channels."

The majority ethnic-Russian Crimean Republic rejoined Russia in March 2014, just over 60 years after Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev transferred it from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (both of which were part of the Soviet Union) in February 1954.

Before requesting to be reincorporated into Russia, Crimean authorities organised a peninsula-wide referendum, in which 96 per cent of voters voted to rejoin Russia, via a referendum which had a voter turnout of over 80 per cent.

  • Israeli pilots flying Ukrainian aircraft, most likely SU27 aircraft with Israeli built “radar spoofing” to make them seem like SU25 ground attack craft, shadowed the Malaysian Airlines flight.
  • The Mossad had placed air controllers in Kiev that redirected the civilian airliner over a specific spot which should have been a “no fly zone” because of the history of air combat over that area.
  • Bolstering the capability was an Israeli F15 with powerful radar and a two-man crew, flying out of Azerbaijan...

Using the term “international bankers” or “robber barons” is gross understatement. We have a clear history of banking families expelled from England in 1290 by Edward I, expelled from Spain in 1492, and much of their history since.

Were one to look at the recent economic collapse in the US at the hands of the Federal Reserve “Bank,” the same cast of characters, the real Deep State, comes into focus. First America got an illegal central bank, one outlawed in her constitution and only a few short years later, America found herself at war in Europe. Coincidence?

There are more names, the Astors, really the Astorgas expelled from Spain, and then there were the Cabots, or rather the Cabotas, also expelled from Spain. These were the great American fortunes built on slavery and the opium trade, once run from China but now from Afghanistan by the CIA, still under control of the same families.

This is the deep state and there are more names, some you will know, some you won’t and new names, the “oligarchs” and “kingpins” that sit in the shadows and pull the strings.

Added to the mix are the great manipulators, Google Corporation, Facebook and an unseen army of “Silicon Valley warriors” who have established a stranglehold on politics, commerce, culture and even “human awareness” around the world. They represent a Deep State intelligence, a “world consciousness” and that consciousness is pathologically insane and criminal in nature.

Though a thousand years old or more, they change, they adapt, and their patterns are visible. They are ISIS, they are al Qaeda, they are the CIA and MI6, they buy governments, they wage wars, chaos is their tool and humanity is fodder to them.

This morning, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which investigates the MH17 crash on 17 July 2014, gave an update of the state of affairs in the criminal investigation. During the meeting for both the national and international press in Bunnik (province of Utrecht), various findings of the investigation were presented. Relatives of the passengers who died in the disaster could follow the presentation through livestream.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople has signed on Saturday Tomos of Autocephaly for the newly-established Ukrainian church, the so-called Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Prior to the signing of the document on autocephaly, a prayer service was held attended by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, Speaker Andrei Parubiy, Metropolitan Epiphany, Constantinople clergy, as well as other Ukrainian politicians and hierarchs of the schismatic Ukrainian church organization.

After the service, Patriarch Bartholomew received at his residence the Ukrainian president and Metropolitan Epiphany.

The Tomos will be officially handed over to Metropolitan Epiphany during a church prayer on Sunday, January 6, and then it will go to Kiev.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have violated the ceasefire agreement, shelling the regions of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) six times over the past 24 hours, head of the DPR group in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said on Saturday.

"The total number of violations made by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past day is six," the Donetsk News Agency quoted Yakubov as saying.

The shelling targeted several regions of Gorlovka, the settlement of Krutaya Balka, Dokuchayevsk, the villages of Zhabichevo and Staromikhailovka, as well as the area around the Donetsk airport, the JCCC said.

The emergence of Ukrainian warships in the Kerch Strait is unlikely, says the deputy of the Crimean State Council Vladislav Ganzhara.

Previously, the adviser to Ukrainian President Yuri Biryukov announced that Kiev plans to cross the Kerch Strait accompanied by international observers.

Ganzhara was skeptical of these statements.

“When it comes to military ships, there is nothing else in the Ukrainian fleet, the vessels that are in detention were probably their flagships, there is nothing more to send,” the deputy told the RT channel.

According to him, the Ukrainian sailors are demoralized by the last incident provoked by the authorities of Ukraine in the Strait of Kerch. At the same time, Ganzhara pointed out that the navigation of regular ships will not be questioned by Russia.

“There is a protocol that, prior to the incident in the strait, allowed Ukrainian ships, including military ones, to pass under the bridge,” he noted.

The deputy stressed that after the violation at Russian borders, any actions by Ukraine in the Kerch Strait will receive “special attention” from Russia.

Kiev has always been warned about the provocations on the peninsula. The head of the Committee on International Relations of the Crimean Parliament, Yuri Gempel, commented that Ukraine is not restricted to cross the strait provided it complies with international law.
