In other words, it works similarly to the Gestapo in nazi Germany, which relied on ordinary people to dub others in as the actual staff was minimal. Hm interesting, to my mind this indicates a disruption in the food supply chain in the Southern parts of our globe,. I wonder what will happen when it comes to the winter months in the Northern Hemispheres.

I work in the distribution warehouse of a large supermarket chain here in Canada. This past week the management has told us in no uncertain terms that the rest the year will be busy beyond belief! There is more freight coming in and being stored than is going out to stores. A similar scenario happened last year when restrictions were lifted a bit and things seemed to be "getting back to normal". What this tells me (osit), is that the company expects supply chains to be disrupted a great deal as the rest of the year plays out.

I talked to one of the supervisors about the busy workload and asked if it was going to be as busy as last year. He said "A LOT more. The rest of this year is going to be absolutely crazy!" That doesn't sound like "getting back to normal" to me.

Latest news here is that the number of positive test results have increased by a lot (not a big surprise because many people were testing to get access to festivals and also for their holiday), so most big events are canceled. Also Dutch minister De Jonge was selling the Janssen vaccine (J&J, but we call it Janssen here) like one of those people on TV selling a product. He said "Dancin' with Janssen!" and "get it now, before they're gone!" (cringey) which led to a number of young adults taking the vaccine so they can go to those dance festivals... only to have the festivals canceled later.

Still no masks required in shops/restaurants, but they're required in the bus, tram, train and at the airport (and a few others). Also, a colleague of mine who has been vaccinated tested positive, this person thinks the mild symptoms are thanks to the vaccine. Oh well!

On July 9 2021 I rode the Amtrak California Zephyr (from Chicago), via NV. to the California west coast. The 08:30 arrival had to be delayed (by 7 hours), allowing massive amounts of freight inland (of what looked like refrigerated goods and material cargo to all points in the northern hemisphere).

That info came from a conductor (as witnessed), when asked why the delay. The weather was also part of the quagmire!
