Information was scarce to begin with as most of these stories are breaking through social media - mainstream mainly maintaining their censorship stance.

Retailers who cash in on community fears about SARS by exaggerating the health benefits of surgical masks could face fines of up to $110,000.

NSW Fair Trading Minister Reba Meagher yesterday warned that distributors and traders could be prosecuted if it was suggested the masks offered unrealistic levels of protection from the disease.

"I'm sure everyone would agree that it is un-Australian to profiteer from people's fears and anxieties," Ms Meagher said.

"There appears to be some debate about whether surgical masks are able to minimise the effects of SARS."
Ms Meagher said her department would investigate any complaints about false mask claims which concerned the public.

"Penalties can range from fines of up to $22,000 for an individual or $110,000 for a corporation," she said.

Health authorities have warned that surgical masks may not be an effective protection against the virus.

"Those masks are only effective so long as they are dry," said Professor Yvonne Cossart of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Sydney.

"As soon as they become saturated with the moisture in your breath they stop doing their job and pass on the droplets."

Professor Cossart said that could take as little as 15 or 20 minutes, after which the mask would need to be changed. But those warnings haven't stopped people snapping up the masks, with retailers reporting they are having trouble keeping up with demand.

John Bell from the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, who owns a pharmacy in Woollahra, Sydney, said mask supplies were running low.

"At the moment we don't have any because we haven't been able to get any in the last few days," MrBell said. "In the early stages it was unbelievable; we'd get people coming in all the time."

Mr Bell agreed with Professor Cossart's assessment regarding the effectiveness of the masks.

"I think they're of marginal benefit," he said. "In a way they give some comfort to people who think they're doing as much as they can do to prevent the infection."

That seems to be the mentality of travellers to Asian destinations, who are buying and wearing the masks while overseas.

Rosemary Taylor, of Kirribilli, arrived in Sydney from Shanghai last week after a two-week holiday in China. Ms Taylor and travelling companion Joan Switzer had worn the masks during the trip home, even though they had been warned they were of little value.

"We were told you need 16 layers on your mask for it to offer 95per cent protection," Ms Taylor said.

What kind of vaccine is it?

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Comirnaty ®) discussed here is a genetically engineered vaccine based on a novel technology. Other mRNA vaccines are being tested, but are not yet approved.

mRNA (messenger RNA or messenger ribonucleic acid) is the “building instruction” for every single protein in the body and should not be confused with human genetic information - DNA. So to me, I don't think the big fish as it were would take this thing. In the main I think there's probably a big operation at play with many people in the loop somewhat and all these people are playing a role. Obviously from their point of view, they must be convinced they are doing the right thing and so are not seeing their role as we're seeing it, deception and ushering in evil as it were.

Regarding the 'mutant UK strain', I've previously read it being 70% more contagious than the original version. I can't find any reference or clip - but I swear I overheard on a recent mainstream news channel report '70 times more contagious'. It was a quick advertisement for the upcoming nightly news between the commercial break on another program which I was only half paying attention to, but even so - my ears pricked up. Probably an innocent mistake - or not.

It's just another example of the false programming being perpetuated. If we are really headed for a bleak future in the near term I wish they could be honest about it, get it done and do away with the obnoxious over-the-top songs and dancing.

It would be nice to see or hear the scientific proof of any claims they are making on MSM. I guess they can't stretch themselves that far.

It was literally that 10 second introduction the anchor reads while showing their face before the story is played. I don't know much about how mainstream news is produced but I'm assuming it was a teleprompter script and the anchor was robotically reading it word for word. Perhaps an innocent mistake by the script-writer (not sure who that would be - the anchor, another reporter, a separate dedicated person?), and maybe that's all it was, just a slip up. But the point was there's a BIG difference between '70 percent vs 70 times' and assuming a proportion of viewers don't know the the difference between the two, that can become a problem for everyone.

A comparative study was performed on swabs taken from the patient in the spring and at the end of the summer. Genome decoding showed the presence of many new mutations, two of which were identical to those found in mink in Denmark. The authors of the paper specified that one of these "mink" strains had previously been found in another immunocompromised patient who had been treated with antibody plasma.
