Creating Stickers and Placards to extend awarness of SOTT,EE,Psychopathy etc.

Anart :)

You are the little angel sitting on my shoulder. I wonder what Gurdjieff would do in a situation like this. He was a good business man and he seems to be the guy, who got what he wanted. I wonder if he was allways so decent. Hmm... I will reconsider. You know, I am planning to make such cartoons myself but that will take a while. If there is anyone out there who has a fishy idea, don't hessitate to call me. Maybe we can create our own cartoons. It's worth a try.

EDIT: added a few sentences

Well, you can always send him a short email explaining your intentions: _http://www.clowncrack.com/contact/

Who knows? He might be the type to endorse the subversive use of his own material. Or not. :halo:

Yeah, who knows? This could be a good way to spread his cartoons as well. It would also be a good promotion for himself.

Hey parallel :)

Let's leave it for now. I will spread some flyers short after May Day, which isn't that important. This city is constantly full of people. But I want at least some sticker like the one we got here. I like the warning sign approach. Maybe we could alter it a little to make it our own. I will think about that.

That's a pretty good idea, Parallel :) As to the translating I've no font-library right now. I'm badly equipped at the moment. Here is the original graphic http://leapingrealeyes.blogspot.de/2010/11/money-masters.html Maybe I should add the owner's web-address to the sticker http://www.imagekind.com/Politician-Warning-Sign-art?IMID=a8b69c30-564f-41c4-83e5-68252f96971d

If you want to use his work, by itself with his signature then that would work and on a separate poster, a SOTT promotion piece (there are many of them on the sott page here - http://www.sott.net/page/4-Promote-Sott-net#p1 )
Basically I think a humorous way to present those issues is the best way to go. Copyright on the other hand is a problem. Most of the Sott-posters are quite overloaded with all these texts on it and they are also very sinister.

EDIT: added a sentence

How about a few of the cartoons - without sott on them - and a few with sott.net on them - there are several on that page I linked that are not text heavy. Yes, it is in a foreign country and, yes, he'd probably never know, so it's up to you, but I would err on the side of courtesy just because that's my general aim anyway.

FWIW as I wrote earlier I still have many printed flyers (in German, from sott and other things) laying around and could be used as well if needed, cause I'm not able to spread them all by myself:

Type 1: is a glossy postcard with "psychopaths rule the world" on the cover and "hope" on the backside.
Type 2: a more "cheap" flyer, color, glossy: on one site "cropcircles" on the backside the long text about lies
Type 3: a pilulerouge catalog with all three wavebooks
Type 4: some EE brochures

They are all in German nonetheless have the old signs-of-the-times internet address on it (for the sott flyers, which is nonetheless working).

Maybe you could send them to my current address. My aim is to collect promotional material to take it with me, whenever I'm on the road. I've got some friends who would also spread some, especially that cynical, Mr. Fish-sort of stuff. As to the German translation I'm not quite sure if this is even necessary in a city like Berlin. All cool stuff, streetart, posters, event-flyers are in English. If there was also material in German, in addition, it would be even better, but I wouldn't make it a priority in this case.

Thanks for the tip Tigersoap and Scarlet. I'm visiting my parents at the moment. That's why I am badly equipped. But in a couple of days I will return to my work station.

I wrote a mail to the sticker-owner, asking if they could sell me the pictographic politician. On their site it reads: "LibertyManiacs.com was founded in 2003 on the notion that people’s freedom—liberty—is, was, and always will be the driving force of progress, happiness, and well-being in the World. We believe like-minded people have always wanted to express their ideas, but there has been a lack of fun, cool products to do so.

Thus, LibertyManiacs.com is a multi-partisan, highly opinionate, passionate, and aggressive advocate for freedom making the coolest stuff for people that fit that same bill. We venerate liberty, and creatively rebuke the ideas, individuals, and institutions that act against it. How? By offering individuals instantly customizable, high quality products that forward the freedom message and are shipped in 24 hours.

Multi-partisan? You guys made that up.

You caught us. But we think the word fits. Liberty Maniacs rejects the false dichotomy of two party political systems because, well, there are other parties out there. It probably doesn't come as a news flash to you that no party is right all the time. So we give credit where credit is due, and give heck where it's due too. In our view, liberty isn't partisan, the absence of it is.

Aren't you just crazy libertarians?

Sure. Of course we are! We tend to think that when it comes down to it about 65% of you are too. I'll show you a brief, albeit simplistic illustration of what we mean. Here's the American Heritage Dictionary's definition of libertarian.

1. One who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state.

2. One who believes in free will.

Now if you fall into either category, you're a Liberty Maniac like us. Welcome. Sure, we might have a whole lot of disagreement about the details, but that doesn't change the fact that you're a freedom-loving, free-will professing, liberty junky!

That approach could be applied to the sticker. If they won't sell me the graphics I could still buy those original stickers, stick it down somewhere and add the suitable Sott-logo on a separate sticker. That would be too compliated and too expensive. The sticker must be something, that can be used all over the world at minimum costs and without copyright infringement!

You only need to PM me the address and latest on Monday I could post it.

Wow! I have read through all of the ideas and trials about spreading the word about Sott! I'm quite impressed at the skills that many of you have! As I occasionally copy and post a link or poster to my fbook page, I still feel that my efforts are inadequate. I don't own a printer and the pc I do utilize is ancient and won't allow me to perform certain programs. Would any of you who have made stickers, posters, etc. be willing to mail them to me? I would compensate for time, materials, and any due postage. I hope this inquiry is appropriate. I would like to contribute to the efforts in informing and awakening others who might be seeking... :cool2:

Hi BrightLight11,
I hope your computer setup does allow for inserting USB sticks and downloading stuff onto them.

If that's the case, you could fill an USB stick with the materials you plan to distribute and take it with you to a printing shop. Most of those have equipments that allow for printing in diverse formats directly from an USB stick or from other data carriers, like memorycards and such.
This procedure would not only be much cheaper and faster, but it allows you to have your distributive materials ready made in the quantities you really need at any particular moment.
You could consult yellow pages or some sort of comparable guide or just google for printing shops in your vicinity, give them a ring first and ask for the data formats they need while doing your printing job(s). They certainly will be glad to help you out.

Just some thoughts, fwiw.

Hope this helps a bit.

I have done just that Palinurus! My SO purchased the USB stick and has aided my progress for composing and distributing SOTT material. Thank you for your suggestions! :cool2:

This is the letter I just wrote:

RE "more than art"

Dear Mr. Fish

My name is ... I am an illustrator from Germany. I'm sure you are getting many mails from admires or even critics, since your artworks are expressive not only in terms of artistry but in terms of truthfulness as well. “Truth” is a currency that seems to have lost value in modern times, but it hasn't lost power. It's something that scares the overlords and frees the peasants, if only for an instant. It frees them, when they laugh about the absurdity of global leadership, the insanity of the greedy, the ill-minded and self-aggrandizing bulls running the china shop. It makes them feel a little more sane in an insane world. Your cartoons support their growing impression that their leaders don't live up to their expectations, or even that they don't at all have their best interests at heart. It's a common feeling they all share. It unites the many, while the few are starting to sweat beneath their masks, which are slipping out of position little by little.

Since I am an illustrator myself I really appreciate your work. I'm also seeking ways to communicate truthful aspects of life in my own way. I don't want to just masturbate in terms of style and virtuosity. Like you I want to get to the bottom of things.

There is a very promising none-profit-news-site on the web, dedicated to free and unbiased journalism: "The Signs Of The Times" http://www.sott.net/ It's another attempt to promote the truth. You know that things are heating up on our big blue marble. Everything is messed up to such an extend that I don't know where to begin. Since the few aren't willing to do something about it, the many must take matters into their own hands. Let's join forces! There is no telling how much time we have left. I attached a few flier to the mail, showing how this could take shape. With your permission, I'd like to promote SOTT while featuring your cartoons at the same time. What do you think?

With kind regards,

...

I'm going to write it a second time but handwritten. I also want to make it more personal and more attractive by adding some funny cartoon myself. It increases the chance of being noticed.
