Crop failure in Russia.

Not sure if you can get this brand in your particular corner of the world, but King Soba makes gluten free soba noodles from 100% buckwheat as well as other grain combinations (millet + buckwheat, for instance). They're quite good. They also have a black rice noodle which I have yet to try. Here's the site - http://www.kingsoba.com/

Thanks for the tip dugdeep! With a little searching on the interwebz, I found an online retailer:

Gluten-Free Food / Product added to the Gluten-Free Mall on: Friday 13 August, 2010.
And great timing too!

No worries, Michael Martin :D
From what Laura reports in this thread (http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=12850.msg187003#msg187003) you might want to stock up!

In the population of Russia there is such group of people which start to reserve products in each disturbing case. Because of it there are jumps of the prices for products.

At present the information on a poor harvest in connection with a drought has caused just such jump.

In our area more other products have risen in price buckwheat (a product of long storage) - twice, and such products as eggs - have fallen in price.

It without any accent on glutenfree diet....
