Curbing the appetite

I've been using rose hip powder for 2 weeks and it works great. Just mix one table spoon of rose hip powder with a bowl of yogurt. Eating this reduces the appetite considerably. It's pretty effective and it diminishes the desire to eat to a great extent. If you like the taste, eat it for a second time in a day, as it also regulates the bowel movements. I'd strongly recommend to everyone who wants to eat less.

I sometimes eat more than normal. Therefore i'd like to curb my appetite
I am going to try it. I have an increased appetite as well. Thanks for the suggestion. Talking about appetite, a friend returned from Antalya and brought us a box of Turkish floss halva.

Healthy animal and vegetable fats (avocado, olive oil) are known to increase satiety (the feeling of fullness in the stomach), and they should constitute a significant part of a healthy diet anyway, so i'd be more likely to recommend people add more of those to their diet first.

What exactly are you overeating? I've noticed people tend to overeat when the food is high in carbohydrates - although people do overeat steak too. Then again, i see few people overeat a pork chop with an inch of fat on. I know the fattier my meal the more satiated i feel, and for longer, when compared to something low in fat.

That said, sometimes these remedy's can be helpful so i'd be interested in seeing any research you may have to back up this rosehip claim. I remember that they're supposed to have some amount of vitamin C or they facilitate it's uptake but that's about it.

My experience is that when doing the high fat diet, if you still feel pangs, it’s more likely emotional eating. What you’re likely after is the oral fixation or ritual distraction munching provides. I tend to smoke more for example. Breathing exercises help to keep your mind busy. At least in my case. Your situation may be entirely different, but I hope this helps.

Well, my experience with curbing appetite is that if you only eat the food you prepare, and make that a very hard and fast rule - it makes things a lot easier, because your body seems to learn that food outside of your realm is off limits. I have been testing this by eating food outside of my usual diet and the cravings come on in a substantial way, especially when there are triggers around, such as convenience stores where you bought a pack of nuts before.

Like was suggested in the May session (the 13 spiritual rules), one way to have more control over your appetite is to do Intermittent Fasting, which is to confine your eating window to a certain number of hours in the day. I find that it's simply easier to stop your food intake beyond 5-6 pm everyday. Night time eating seems to be one of those things that you just shouldn't do if you want to keep your biological system healthy and keep cell turnover going rather than having it expend resources on digestion. It also seems to enhance mental clarity and focus.
