Healthy animal and vegetable fats (avocado, olive oil) are known to increase satiety (the feeling of fullness in the stomach), and they should constitute a significant part of a healthy diet anyway, so i'd be more likely to recommend people add more of those to their diet first.
What exactly are you overeating? I've noticed people tend to overeat when the food is high in carbohydrates - although people do overeat steak too. Then again, i see few people overeat a pork chop with an inch of fat on. I know the fattier my meal the more satiated i feel, and for longer, when compared to something low in fat.
That said, sometimes these remedy's can be helpful so i'd be interested in seeing any research you may have to back up this rosehip claim. I remember that they're supposed to have some amount of vitamin C or they facilitate it's uptake but that's about it.
