The originator is the Voice of Russia (first link). The 2nd and 3rd links are from big news sources in Vietnam. They reported it as a letter from an Austrian magazine (Contra Magazin) to Putin. I don't know where or why they have that idea. And none of them carried a link to dearputin.com. That oversight has been corrected in their comment section by some helpful reader who posted the link to the Vietnamese translation ;)

I also find it heartwrenchingly sad that I even feel it necessary to think that way.
And I can relate to you Laurelayn. It is a thought that sadly one might have when taking any stand that goes counter to the status quo.
