E-cigarettes: research - experiments - ideas

They have some 80VG/20PG liquids at this shop. Would that help or would it be better to get a hold of 100% VG and dilute with distilled water?

Maybe it would help but one cannot be sure. If your teeth go numb your reaction to pg is above mild. VG looks like the safer option.

They can actually give me store credit for the vaporizer so I could get a different one with more power for the higher VG.

More power is not needed if you dilute vg with water. I just made a little test with an 1.4 ohm atomizer at 8 Watts. Even at this low power it produced more vapour than a cigarette.

a better range of pods

All pods are short lived and costly over time. As you don't know yet whether you will continue vaping or not I suggest to keep you device for now and try different liquids, vg based with added water.

Got my armour s mod and nautilus tank today … soooo much better than the pod system IMO .. easier to fill and much tighter draw .. I’m using a 1ohm coil at 10 watts.. super smooth, the flavour for me is better too ( it sure why this would be?) ..l have some .7’s too which I will try as I found I opened the air flow up to get what I needed .. so .7 and with less air flow may be quite good. The mod is quite a bit bigger and heavier than the pod system (running a 217 battery) so not ideal for keeping in your pocket, although you can .. it’s built with the same stuff they make those dewalt drills out of , well at least it feels like it .. very robust … I’ve included a pic for reference against my luxe max for anyone interested. camphoto_1804928587.jpeg

They can actually give me store credit for the vaporizer so I could get a different one with more power for the higher VG. They have Smok brand Novo 4, Nord 4 and Nord 5. The Novo 5 is 40w max adjustable but only comes in .7 pods. The Nord 4 is 80w adjustable with a better range of pods 0.16 up to 1.2, while the Nord 5 has only 0.16 and 0.23.
If at all possible, don't buy Smok equipment. It has a REALLY bad rep, very unreliable.

Mate, great setup. I love the draw on the Nautilus tank. Size is an issue, but it is the compromise for a better vape IMO

Yeah I totally agree mate, it might pay to have a smaller more portable device for “being out and about” that you can just keep in your pocket, if carrying something bulky is an issue, but otherwise yeah leaps ahead IMO. There is a rumour here in Oz that they want to get rid of the mods and tanks and only have the pods, not sure, but I do know there are more “amendments” coming in July 25 here 🙄 so for anyone who is keen on getting into the vape thing, I would recommend trying these things now as they will probably try this everywhere else too FWIW

Isn't that weird. Here in NZ it is the opposite. They are talking about binning the pods and just allowing the mods and tanks, as kids can't easily buy or conceal them. To cover all bets I have a couple of Voopoo Vinci3 pod systems and a Voopoo Argus mod with the Nautilus tank

Haha … I guess they’re testing out which way works best for curbing the dreaded nicotine and then they’ll impart that on the rest of the west?!

I’m the same, I have both now … and a reasonable stock of pg/vg and Nic salt … I even have a spare device that I leave in my faraday box with my crypto wallet 😂

I finally got around getting some juice from velvetcloud that was supposedly all VG, but when I look at the package it says it's 10% PG. Whether or not I go with that one or try to find one strictly 100% VG, I was wondering about two things, maybe a bit of overthinking:

Do you worry about the distilled water you dilute it with being in a plastic bottle or jug? And when you wash the containers, cylinders and syringes do you dry with a paper towel or just let them air dry so no paper towel lint comes into play? Just wondering what level of care to not contaminate things is best. I feel like I'm a little in over my head and will probably just give this one or two more tries. I think vaping is at least less messy than cigarettes assuming you don't spill the juice.
