Earthquakes around the world

Yellowstone System Alert just announced the massive dome shaped uplift is still increasing in size. Today, we take a look at this Yellowstone system alert and the dome uplift underneath Yellowstone. Recent data has shown that geysers around Yellowstone are starting to increase, with live footage showing that they seem to be more active than usual. Swarms of Earthquakes have still been hitting the region within the last few weeks, with local residents saying that the tremors seem to be on the increase. There's particularly been a lot of activity around Yellowstone lake, with dozens of earthquakes not being reported on, however, we can see by seismic data that these earthquakes are still hitting Yellowstone.

During the past 24 hours, there were 3 quakes of magnitude 5.0 or above, 21 quakes between 4.0 and 5.0, 150 quakes between 3.0 and 4.0, and 343 quakes between 2.0 and 3.0. There were also 441 quakes below magnitude 2.0 which people don't normally feel.

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 9:23 p.m. MDT, Alberta had a 4.1 quake, 31 km NW of Rocky Mountain House, at a depth of 9 km, that was upgraded the next day to a 5.0. This is the second largest recorded earthquake Alberta has ever had. 5.0? In Alberta? It's unheard of! And it wasn't actually in the mountains and wasn't caused by drilling. People in Edmonton (~164 km away) reported feeling it.

During the past 24 hours, there were 6 quakes of magnitude 5.0 or above, 29 quakes between 4.0 and 5.0, 161 quakes between 3.0 and 4.0, and 310 quakes between 2.0 and 3.0. There were also 372 quakes below magnitude 2.0 which people don't normally feel.

Regarding that grid, as a comment of Stephen Smiroldo says: --and it really sounds more pausible to me.

Hey Paul, I’ve been seeing this grid since the start. I just figured it’s the sensor “resolution”. For example, just like certain GPS technologies in the past had various “resolutions” of 10, 20, 50 meters. La Palma is a much smaller Island. I haven’t tested yet but I’m guessing you’re zooming in further than you did on Greece and the earthquake swarm is MUCH tighter, hitting the earthquake sensor resolution limit – as if you were looking at a TV from 1 foot away and then 1/2” away. You’ll start seeing the pixels individually. Even if a government were causing these earthquakes, they would not be in an absolutely perfect grid. This is a sensor/technology limitation as if you were zoomed into a TV really close to see the pixel pattern. Hope you all can understand this. It’s really not difficult to test. Just make sure you’re zoomed in the EXACT same amount on the other areas where there are swarms. Maybe look at another volcano that has a tight swarm of earthquakes (if there is one).

It had crossed my mind briefly, but then I imagined that some of those sensors would have been annihilated by the lava flows and earthquake movement rendering them inoperative to ping their location or whatever they do, so, I'm not really convinced of that. I just think it's curious and I don't know what to think.

Well, that's the issue, you imagined... Perhaps a sensor might be had burned, but it's not the only one, multiple sensors are place in different locations across the island. There are several types of sensors as well, some are potable, some are for tremors related to the volcano eruption, some are to obtain data of gases and, etc

Last week saw 3 M6 earthquake with the highest being a M6.2 in Taiwan.
In the usual area, there were 1 out of 69 earthquakes worldwide equal to or greater than 4.5 and 1525 out of 1854 quakes of all sizes.
Percentage: 82.3%
