A tsunami warning has been issued for a 186-mile area of the Pacific Ocean following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake off Vanuatu.
The quake struck 94 miles northwest of the island nation and was 35km deep, according to the US Geological Survey.
There is a possibility of "hazardous tsunami waves" for coasts within 300km of the earthquake's epicentre, said the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
The quake comes just over a year after Cyclone Pam devastated the country, killing up to 50 people.
Also, to add: there was a KP index of 6 last night resulting in auroras, dipping quite low due to apparent general weakening of our geomagnetic field, which i mention since i've heard there may be correlation.
Added # 2: this was because of an apparent coronal hole stream, rather than a solar flare.
