Earthquakes around the world

There was an earthquake in the Democratic Republic of Congo that USGS reported as M5.0

It is an unusual earthquake. Congo is not characterized as a seismic zone, so far this year no earthquake had been recorded and during 2021 only 23 earthquakes were recorded and were labeled as not significant (less than M2)

Well maybe is nothing but it happened relatively close to the cave that collapsed near Madagascar in 2018 according to the Cs

(Pierre) What was the cause of this monochromatic earthquake that lasted 20 minutes last month off the coast of Madagascar?

A: Grand chamber collapse deep underground. Like a deep sinkhole. And extremely large!!!

Q: (Joe) They were saying they thought it was an undersea volcanic eruption.

(L) So what caused it?

A: Combination of factors including crustal slippage and magnetic field anomaly. Check gravity graphic for the region for clues.

Oh yeah, I had just finished lunch when I felt my couch shake in the first quake at about 2:57pm, then as I was having my tea on the balcony, logged on to the Forum, that the second quake hit, and well feel 4.6 in magnitude, I was able to repeat to myself twice (among other things) "and if the balcony falls off, what should I do?!?"
On the floor below, my 10 year old "nephew" came in tears, it was his first panic earthquake, we had a good laugh when I asked him where he should go in such a situation, and he answered "lock himself in a wardrobe".

So I forgot to log out of the Forum before I left.
So those of you who were online at the time may have felt a little jolt.
😸

Here is a camera that is still shaking!
According to Manuel del Río, one of Camaramar's managers, the camera is located in the Hostal Balieiros Restaurant in Corrubedo. "It is the only one of our cameras that records because it is included in a scientific project", he explains. All of Camaramar's webcams, except this one, provide live images, but they do not record, as they would need permits.

"This camera points to the ocean, to the horizon, and is very sensitive, so we went to check the images to see if it had recorded the movement and that's where we found the surprise," Manuel adds.

For anyone it is the worst thing they can do, lock themselves in the wardrobe

Talk to the children and make them aware. Every year seismic activity increases and it seems we are about to enter the roller coaster

From experience, we should not only remain calm but leave the building if possible. Here are some actions.
