Earthquakes around the world

That’s an interesting question which I cannot answer, though.

It happend as well with the earthquake of 2017, of 8.2 from Oaxaca that felt in México City.

There is more data needed, I think..
Now that you mention, yesterday strange lights were seen in the sky also on the coasts of Oaxaca and near Oklahoma United States

This pics reminds me of something that was mentioned in a session of the C's about the Rift of Malta, The Chalice and Sheet of Rains!

lightning bolts in the México City horizon with the EQ M7.1

I was looking for information about the lights in the sky, the official information given by the Mexican government leaves much to be desired ...
So far that is the official information that has been made known to the advertiser, in addition to the fact that there is a record of these lights since 1600
It would be very interesting to hear an explanation from an Electric Universe perspective, because the official explanation of "earthquake lights" isn't clear enough.

Btw, here's a video of a powerline explosion in Mexico city. It looks like many of this kind of explosions could be a source for the lights, but it doesn't really look the same.

It actually reminded me of the transformer explosion in New York several years ago. It had the same blue glow.

And here is an article that at least tries to provide explanation.

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook central Mexico on Tuesday night, leaving at least one person dead and significant damage in Acapulco, in Guerrero State. But the earthquake also roused terror for another reason: huge flashes of blue light in the sky known as “earthquake lights.” Experts interviewed by this newspaper say the phenomenon is caused by the release of energy before, during and after the tremor, and the flashes can be triggered by seismic activity and volcanic eruptions.

”The interaction between motion on the ground and the atmosphere is real,” said Víctor Manuel Cruz, a seismologist at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). “Records show that an earthquake can produce dynamic disturbances and electromagnetic signals,” he added.

In the middle of the rainy night, many confused the flashes for lightning or electrical system failures. Although science has not offered a conclusive explanation for this phenomenon, most cite the release of energy during an earthquake. This might be linked to a phenomenon known as triboluminescence, where materials release light when they are rubbed, stretched or otherwise manipulated.

What I found interesting is what Russian sources wrote. They added that only 0.5% earthquakes produce such an effect, and that Mexico experienced somehing similar during an earthquake that happened back in 2017.

Likewise in Napa 2014. FWIW.

A strong earthquake swarm started under the area of La Cumbre Vieja volcano in the southern part of the Island yesterday. So far, more than 350 tremors have been detected, including 14 quakes of magnitudes above 3.0 and 226 quakes between 2.0 and 2.9.

The strongest was a magnitude 3.4 event at 00.46 am local time this morning, which was felt by nearby residents.

Most earthquakes are at shallow depths around 8-12 km, suggesting that new magma is currently intruding into a reservoir under the volcano. Whether or not this might be leading up to new volcanic activity is impossible to say at this stage, as there seem not to be other signs of significant volcanic unrest at this stage. Similar earthquake swarms have occurred in the past as well, most recently in late Dec last year; however back then, the quakes were deeper.

La Palma volcano (Canary Islands): strong seismic swarm suggests magma intruding at depth

An earthquake or eruption could trigger a landslide that causes a widespread tsunami in the Atlantic Ocean.

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a yellow alert situation for volcanic risk on the island of La Palma due to the increase in seismic activity in the Cumbre Vieja area. Since last weekend the number of earthquakes detected in this demarcation of the territory has multiplied, an activity that "represents a significant change in the Cumbre Vieja volcano and is related to a magmatic intrusion process inside the island's crust. from La Palma, " explains Nemesio Pérez, scientific coordinator of the Canary Islands Volcanological Institute (Involcan).

The strong earthquake swarm is continuing beneath Cumbre Vieja, and now PEVOLCA has raised the alert level to Yellow, citing the repeated occurance of earthquake swarms since 2017, with this one being the strongest and also the shallowest, suggesting magma is slowly rising into the edifice. Measurements of Helium-3 gas flux are also indicating this.

During the past 7 days, Canary Islands was shaken by 27 quakes of magnitude 3.0 or above and 390 quakes between 2.0 and 3.0. There were also 266 quakes below magnitude 2.0 which people don't normally feel.
