Everything happening for a reason

While I was practicing my diaphragmic breathing a thought that would hinder it came to mind, and I'm trying to progress through it and I'm trying to ignore it but I wonder if it was supposed to happen or rather my energy and stability at the time is the reason for it. I'm constantly affirming "I am breathing with my diaphragm". Is it detrimental if I write it on my alarm on my phone?

Thanks

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what happened. You were belly breathing, and a certain thought came up that hindered your breathing? Was it a specific thought? How exactly did it interfere with your breathing?

As for writing that phrase on your phone, I don't think it would be detrimental.

Like I was like "I will never unforget how to diaphragm breathe" and then knowing I worded it wrong (or it not being my desired intention), I was like "I will never forget how to diaphragm breathe. But I feel like the energy still lingers. Maybe less since I just made this comment. :) And I'll put it on my phone :D

CeLegacy,

I think it is great that you value the idea of correct breathing but there is also the meditation aspect which allows you to also meditate on a "seed" concept/idea which means you then can do both at the same "time". Maybe if you set aside a time to do both you will flow into the breathing more naturally. There is quite a bit on the forum and in the recent sessions that suggests different ways some of us have approached this.

The most recent session mentions the importance of meditation with using the "seed" concept:

Session 29 August 2015
Q: (Perceval) When they said they'd benefit from regular meditative practice, would some version of EE and the Prayer of the Soul be enough, or something more specific?

A: The EE program can be used as a foundation, but straight meditation with seed is more along the line intended here. All of them need to learn to discipline the mind.

I think the EE program is a base to build upon. :)

I'm still not sure I understand exactly what happened. Did this thought distract you so that you lost your concentration and stopped belly breathing correctly? I don't think it's very important how you word a thought like this. What matters is simply that you practice the belly breathing, observe yourself and your body as you do it, and refocus your attention if it drifts away. You may not be perfect at first, but the more you do it, the more easy it will become. And once your body remembers, it won't forget, just like riding a bike. So I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Hi CeLegacy,
do the thing happening for a reason is that you realized that you worded the way that you have to breath
"in a wrong" way ?
"I will never unforget how to diaphragm breathe"
while you wanted to mean
"I will never forget how to diaphragm breathe"

I second A.I and goyacobol and would add my piece of bacon,
if we can consider we are what we eat, with the Breath we can be what we are.
