Face Book and face recognition software?

This from a friend on facebook
"to avoid the new facebook face recognition system. Go to Account/privacy settings/Customise settings/things you share/Suggest photos of me to friends (at the bottom) - 'edit settings' When photos look like me, suggest tagging me - I Disabled this

Thanks a bunch for this! I just disabled this. I basically use facebook to share pics with my sister who lives in Australia and it's just the easiest way to do it, but i noticed the auto-tag in some pics i posted saturday and it was creepy :O

Since the old Star Trek days, I used to think... If I can think of it, they're probably working on it, or already have it.

I have had the same thought. It's very Orwellian, creepy. However anart makes a good point about being a tool to reach others. With caution, that outweighs the negative aspects. IMO

Yup. We gotta work with the current opportunity available. And stand for what we think.
