FIR blanket product questions

Someone had recommended the far Infrared blanket to me a couple of months back and I listened to the podcast some months ago when it came out. They linked me to the promolife link, already posted above. I'm just curious if anyone has used this particular product themselves as I just ordered one for my wife and I? If yes, would you give any feedback, taste of your experience?

I don't think that I'm really in need of the product, so far as detoxing is concerned, though I'm not sure.

Clicking around on the promolife website drew blanks as to the manufacturer (though it could be promolife). I'm just curious as to anyone's experience with them/their products.

I ordered it from promolife. No issues with the product. I contacted with them once for some clarification. No Issues with interaction. decent interaction. As for as the product manufacturer is concerned , There is no company name except the product as PH-2B(III) Body shaping system.

Thanks for the feedback seek10. I've been thinking I don't need to detox, but over the last couple of days I've been going over the links here under the Diet and Health topic and the info has led me to believe I'm more or less full of toxins. It's going to be interesting to see how well my body gets along with the blanket, as, for the most part, I try to avoid the sun when it gets above 80 degrees outside. It makes me feel weak, like I might dry up and turn to dust. I'm gonna take it slow and hope that by the time summer (or spring for that matter) arrives, I'll be quite comfortable in 85 degree weather.

Did you read 'Detoxify or Die'?. If not , you may want to read the book.

you have to be cautious , if there is any issues of vitamin deficiencies or any metabolic deficiencies etc. which almost every body will have. so identifying and taking corrective action is important. so you want to read the 'Detoxify or Die' before even starting the sauna and get the needed vitamins etc.

if it is psychological , you can control it , but if it is some thing physical, you want to know what causes the weakness. dehydration or lack of salts or any other possibilities etc. Only after you start doing, you will know , what the issue is , if any thing exist.

start with low temperatures and increase it to know the tolerance. generally many of us tolerate much more than 8 Faren.

Hi

As a very satisfied once-a-week user of the FIR sauna blanket by Get Fitt purchased in Feb09 I would like to suggest to other forum members with one that they consider also covering their head within it when using it to achieve a full body even charge. I find that there are still ample air outlets to breathe comfortably in doing so. I usually bend my legs to still manage to cover my full length (178cm) and it doesn’t get awkward in there.

My thoughts in doing so were that with all sorts of man-made particulates, electrical/magnetic interferences in the atmosphere and disruptions to healthy solar radiation levels to earth surface that ones head should get a regular supplementary fix at least as much as the body, and much more so than the ankles(the ankles can stickout if I, on occasion, feel like lying straight in the blanket).

After a 30 minute use i consistently get a lingering sense of freshness throughout the body and clearness of the head. The quality of the control box & material is impressive & reassuring for long-term reliability. I was heartened with Get Fitt’s keenness to provide initial, probably also some ongoing, free tailored technical/medical advice following purchase(that i didn’t utilise). It struck me that their team might be at the forefront of cellular-medical research field aswell.

I hope the few postings on this product in the forum are not a reflection of the lack of its procurement on the part of members after Laura’s ringing endorsement on podcast.

Ultimately, I consider the greatest value in having the blanket for those in generally good health is for in the days ahead as i'm guessing the natural FIR seems destined to continue to diminish noticeably. I strongly recommend ‘you do yourself a favour’ and get one for your household in the near future.
(hope most of this makes sense)

cheers,
Mickey
ps
& yes ...newbie intro is on the 1st page of my to do list ; }

I actually bought a portable sauna instead of a blanket, because it ended up being less expensive than any of the blankets I could find online. With shipping, it came to $231 (USD). I bought it at the following site:

http://www.ib3health.com/products/InfraredSauna/ISPA.shtml

My parents also bought one on my recommendation (my Dad has suffered from fibromyalgia for years), so I will report back after it comes to let everyone know how it works out. It has a 30-day return guarantee, so if there is a problem I hope I can return it without difficulty.

What temperatures do you use for the head area?

I nearly bought a FIR blanket from GetFitt but in the cost was prohibitive for me. In the end I bought one from eBay and so far it seems like it's very good quality and it works well. I haven't used it much yet because I need to get the supplements organised, but the product has a one-year warranty and I think a 30-day return policy.

Alternatively you could start detoxing with the sauna and worry about supplements later. If you sweat a lot, a little rock salt and magnesium might do a good job while you are refining your supplement protocol.

Well I believe you can use the sauna for shorter periods without extensive supplementation, as long as you drink water beforehand. I'm using magnesium oil right now so I should probably start using the sauna some more.

I ended up buying a FIR blanket with 3 sections from here (from their Kuala Lumpur shop):
http://www.infraredsauna.com.my/

Been using it for a couple of months now and am really happy with it! It's sturdy, provides good heat, and well, seems to do the job. I checked the spectrum analysis when I bought it, and AFAIK it was generating IR in the right range.

The blanket cost $370, and it was one of their high-end offerings. The shop sold directly from the factory, so it was cheaper than through other resellers (that's why there's no price info on the website). If you're in Malaysia, or nearby, I can recommend them.

I can further endorse the Get Fitt FIR sauna blanket, which I've had for the last two months or so. When ordering, on mentioning the interview of Mark with Laura, a discount was given. I've also taken advantage of the 'consultancy service, which id first class. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase and results to date.

Hello all, I've been looking into buying a FIR sauna. I've started detox supplements along with the diet and want to get in some serious sauna action too. I've been looking at the sites suggested here. I'm just not sure if I want a sitting box type or the blanket. The sitting one looks like you could watch a video while in the sauna but it has a ceramic heater and other things that make it seem like setup would be more work. The blanket seems simpler but you look like you're confined to the little space. I was wondering if you have to lie down in the blanket, or can you sit in a chair with it?

Also, how is cleanup? Do you have to wipe it out thoroughly every time you use it? It seems the blanket would take less time than the bigger sitting models. I'll probably have 30 minutes a day to get in the sauna, but an hour would be pushing it especially on EE days. So the total time it takes for a session is important. Any advice is appreciated; I'm looking forward to getting rid of more toxins!

I've used both. The sitting sauna broke after a short time. The blanket is actually more comfortable because you can lie down. Most times I watch a video while stretched out on the couch. I imagine you could sit in a chair if you wanted. I would recommend the blanket.

For cleaning, yes, you should wipe it down with a disinfectant cleaner after each use.

As for the time you should spend, it will depend on how quickly you start to sweat. If your body is full of toxins, it may take awhile until you start to sweat, but as your body gets rid of them, you should start sweating more quickly. If you only have 30 minutes, that should be good. If you read this thread, you'll find out a lot about it.

FWIW, I bought the box kind (see my post higher on this page), and its worked out well so far. I have never tried the blanket, so I can't compare them and I'm sure the blanket is fine. My entire family has been using the box sauna I got at the end of September (especially recently, when they've been sick) and so far its holding up fine, but I will report back here if I have any troubles with it.

By the way, I think people look cuter when they're in a big box, but that's not what should tip your decision ;)

Thanks Galahad and shijing for the replies. I think I'm leaning more toward the blanket. It seems like it takes up less space and has less parts to it. I'm going to sleep on it just to be sure and probably order it tomorrow.

:P
