Hmm, I might gain some weight after this is over then. I was exercising a lot before doing the diet, probably too much.

What do y'all use for a cleaning disinfectant? The manual says don't use chemical solvents, just wipe it with a wet towel or alcohol.

I use a wet sponge and ordinary vinegar, which I spray on the blanket. It is cheap and clean and prevents any smells.

Overall, I'm glad with my purchase and it was enjoyable and toasty. Tongue I just have to wait until a week's or month's time of using it to see how effective it is.

We purchased an infrared sauna and I have been using it daily for the last ten day. So far the most direct effect was that my back pain went away, I can seat in front of the computer normally and stand up without feeling any pain. What a relief ! So far my session are of 30 min. but I will increase the length gradually to 45 min., Since I did a detox from May to October and practicing breathing and meditation since the beginning I don't know if I will experience any die off effects, so far I am so happy that my back pain is gone, that I need not to twist my arm to use it daily.

Oh yeah, I forgot about vinegar. It seems it has a lot of uses for cleaning things. Thanks for the advice, I'll consider using some.

I am looking into different FIR blanket models and have been trying to find one that is extra long. I am 202 cm (6' 7") and some manufacturers claim that they will fit up to 6' 6" but I was hoping that some of the people here could comment on the size of blankets that they have.

Mine only fits up to 6' 6" but if you are a little bit taller than that, you could always leave the end of it open and just let your feet stick out. You still be getting almost full body coverage.

I'm 6'6" and the blanket is just not long enough for me to be able to comfortably lay in it with the straps over my shoulders without bending my legs to create more room, which after a while isn't so comfortable. I've done what John suggests, letting my feet hang out at the bottom, and it helps a lot and doesn't create a large loss of heat either. I think it is still worth getting even though you may not fit normally.

Heimdallr and John!, thanks for the replies.

Heimdallr, since we're about the same height, I'dlike to ask what type of FIR blanket you are using?

Pretty sure it's from http://www.get-fitt.com/ :)

I just did my first FIR Blanket session. I did it at the lowest heat settings for 40 min. I feel a little wiped out. Although my mind is surprisingly quite, I don't feel as tired mentally as I do physically. I've been doing the detox diet for a while and doing the coffee enemas about once a week. However, I have probably been eating too many sugars through fruits and dates. I also suppose I have more toxins than I thought I had, since I do feel a bit sluggish.

I got my sauna blanket from them as well last christmas.

Just a couple of days ago I also received Detox or Die where I have read that it is a good idea to have some tests done to find out which toxins are present in the body, how much and where they are concentrated.

I can apparently also find out which nutrients are lacking and change my supplementation accordingly because detoxing uses up alot of magnesium among other while I detox.

After using it occasionally for several months, I've only just started using it daily before my EE in the evenings.I still don't even break a sweat at 40C for 60 min which gives me concern that my 'thermostst' may be out of whack due to some blockages. Will have to work on that one to see what is going on.

I too, sometimes dose off but lately I've been reading while in the blanket which makes the 60 min go in no time at all. There is certainly much to read for homeWork . ;)

Doing some exercise before the sauna really helps to sweat. I like to go jogging for 10 minutes, and then go into the sauna which is preheated at 60°C. I sweat immediately in large quantities. Remember that 40°C is just 3°C above body temperature.

same here...I have the thing cranked up to 60C and i don't sweat until the last 10 min of a one hour session sometimes when my feet are really cold, what i call bone cold...they seem to radiate coldness...i have to shift them around in the blanket cause they suck the heat right out of it and make cold spots

Hi stella, my thermostat is set at 55C, and during a 45 min session, I, like rraven, sweat only in the last 10 mins or so. I do ensure that whilst the blanket is warming up for 10 mins that the ambient temperature is 'warm' - I find that this can make a difference.

I think tomorrow I will krank it up to 50C and see what happens. However I'm still inclined to get all the blood and urine tests done as suggested by Sherry Rogers' book. It will certainly give me a clearer picture of where I stand with the toxins, minerals, enzymes etc.

I've been gluten, dairy and sugar free for eight months but I'm sure more needs to be done. It cannot be that easy to detox in just eight months IMO.

As for the exercising, after working on a construction site for 8-9 hours @ 6 days a week I can hardly bring myself to even look at the gym equipment, lol. However I might have to force myself for a couple of days and see if that helps. I mean the equipment is already there before me, someone might as well make use of it.

I'll post about the results as soon as I find out something.
