Around four o'clock this morning, soldiers took control of the antenna on the Gabonese National Radio to read a statement in which they announced wanting to set up in the coming hours a "national council of the restoration". Gabonese President Ali Bongo is currently recovering in Morocco after suffering a stroke in late October.
Soldiers arrived at National Radio around 4 am local time. It was a Lieutenant of the Republican Guard, Lieutenant Ondo Obiang Kelly, who read the communique. The signal of Gabonese radio is now cut off, tells us our correspondent.
