The Force is Strong With This One

(there was 200 people)
this was a small test for on saturday when it should be a real strike, we will see whether it does happen.
people are divided, because the media pushes two political party hdz or sdp who run this country since 1990.
croatia was at war, half the people were left without anything. the bank came and offered loans for homes and cars, and people as people-just hungry, were raised loans. once the state has failed and people have failed. people want to work but we simply do not have a job,i want to work the worst jobs, but we do not have a job. politicians are all sold, the only thing we have left is the drinking water and forests and good song :D
people leaving the country, for bread, and I d like to go. croatian defender were issued,in short, should have two hours to write a little history of failure. croatia is the collapse of illusions. people cleaned guns, angry, betrayed,no one knows where this country is going(like airplain without pilots, and people are fighting where is coca cola) :)
my last job was a few months ago. i worked as a mechanic on the black market. i worked for 20 dolars for a day-8-11 hours.
consumer basket in croatia is 1000 dolars if you want to survive. i have always worked the hardest jobs, and today we do not have a jobs. i have 25 years, i lived with my family 17 years in various basements. we sold two cars and bought one small for 1200 dolars. barely pays the bills and question is whether we can in the next couple of months to pay bills.
my father was at war, I m like a little child, I felt little effects of war, nothing special. a lot of people in the war were left without anything, they were able to stand on their feet through the loan and again they lost half of it.
croatian soul is broken. they are angry at God and to ourselves
i have feeling that everything is set up and i think you well know.
interesting thing i noticed, about 2-3 months to show zeitgeist movie 3 and since then everything kind of started with all this protests(maybe i m wrong)
zeitgeist is not solution, because this country has experinced zeitgeist movie 20 years ago in another way.

God-creator of all, thank you for everything, the lessons in my life,if the price of all this is that-let s
God save croatia and give us some knowledge and light that we all make it easier, we re tired
let this be a little prayer for my people
and left me at least to put the good old croatian song

thank you

Hey Leo, I had no idea, thanks for the perspectives

I was in Croatia in 1994, and I saw the garbage cans full of money in the back alleyways of Mali Losinj, Rijeka. Coca-Cola had just showed up then, and were doing all that they could to blot out the local soft drink companies to the chagrin of the locals.
I will tune in now, I wanted to say thanks, and God Bless.

Hi leo.

As fellow countryman I'm allso in great despair and don't see the hope for our small, proud but terribly exhausted nation. However, understanding psychopathy and how it works in terms of politics and business is more then crucial now and it gives you a great insight of how stuff works and why are we today in sucha mess. It is most important to know that we are not alone in this economic downfall. Our neighbours in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and all throughout Balkans and whole World are in similar if not in even worst position.

I, you and a vast majority of our peoples dreamed of our independence and of creating a society much different from one we left behind. Society in which every men and women have right to live decent and useful life without ever have to go thru what our elders have gone. Our soldiers were our fathers, husbands, boyfriends, workers and farmers and they didn't go to war to kill another human being just because he wasn't of "our" nation! They left to tranches and filth to defend themselves and their families. Unfortunately we didn't realize at that time, that we are just cannon meat, a pawns in much more sinister game as war allways is! Psychopaths rule our world, and where they step the grass doesn't grow anymore as we say here.

However, today we are witnessing economic decline and ineffectiveness of our Government to respond with wisdom and actual measures to ease the pressure from its people, which puts us in very grim perspective and tells us what we are dealing with here and what to expect in near future.

Yes, I think we are, as nation, heading towards oblivion without counting in possible climate, geological or cosmic influences and I can't comprehend how people are so inert, so unwilling to face reality and do something about it. Instead, they will go to mall and spend there money they don't have and wait someone else do the cleaning for them. And maybe in a way we deserve this. Of course we were and are manipulated in zillion ways but that doesn't justify our irresponsibility toward us and generations to come.

I know that you are in terrible position, effects of dead economy are widely felt and I'm not exception. As my understanding goes, from participating on this forum, it is most crucial to start EE breathing program if you didn't start so far. It's a great way to reduce stress impact on your physical and mental health and possibly to receive much more then that.

Stay brave as we Croats do!

Edited: some spelling

Just an idea.
I imagined scene with people which practising EE breathing during the protest and now i can t get that out of my head. :halo:
Maybe that is what we should do? Maybe tomorrow (for when is announced new protest) we should go there and practise EE? So it would really be a peaceful protest. ;)
Or more likely it's just a manifestation of my subconscious search for closeness of people who share the same worldview with me in terms of spirituality.

Well, I need a little help.
What should be my... our next step?

C's would probably answer - Wait and see... and practice EE :)

What do you think?

While I strongly advised people to practice EE breathing program I think maybe it would not be so wise to stand in front of riot police wall doing EE. That is I don't expect enough people to participate and for wast majority without prior introduction and knowledge it may look a little weirdish!

My advice would be to regularly practice EE program and to share it with whoever you think may benefit from this. Observing events in your environment is next on the list. It is very important to stay healthy and to introduce dietary changes to your every day routine. And last but not least to expand your knowledge, principally from books recommended here.

I think that we have passed the window of opportunity to change something by pressuring our Government to change and even if we succeed who are going to rule after? Opposition? I don't expect opposition to make significant shift in ruling. It would be just as it is now. It's not that I'm against public expression of discontent but I don't think it would make difference now.

We are facing probable mass extinction and right now enjoying our last "peaceful" and "normal" days on Earth and if we want to survive upcoming calamity (not necessary in physical state that is) we have to prepare ourselves to face the "devil himself" to be able to "look in his eyes" and smile while lighting a smoke! :cool2:

Leo, I didn't know Croatia was in such despair. But it's similar a bit of everywhere in the world, the country my parent came from Cote d'Ivoire or Ivory Coast it's a country in Africa is having the same kind of situation but for sillier reason, basically there were election and this guy Ouatarra won but the other guy Bagbo said that he cheated and that it's he who won. Most international president and organisation recognize Ouatarra as the new leader but because of Bagbo and his people pettiness the situation is getting worse, banks are closing and a civil war is most likely to start soon.

Anyway, just to show that many country are suffering at the moment and I think it's gonna increase

I wish well to Croatia and to you

Keep Strong

Today thee were protests and clash with police in the center of capitol city of Zagreb, and in town of Osijek the protesters attacked residence of the ruling party. In Zagreb 60 persons were arrested, 33 were injured and of that 2 serious, the reporters also, one said that he got with the brick in head but appeared on camera on the same day with small bendage so this is little suspicious because or he was hit with a piece of it or other way he would be in coma. It took three and half hours to settle down. Innocent bystanders where also attacked by police, there was a serious clash and fight with police on the central square. Today there was protest by veterans but they were peaceful and they were saying that they didn't fought for country so the politicians can lot it (they are more nationalistic in a way and some are probably ultra), those who clashed with police were mostly younger people about 800 of them, veterans were 10000-15000 in number. Opposition wants elections before time so they can grab the power but people are desperate and don't have neither hope in them. they aren't corrupt as ruling party but even if they tried to do something they can't because all is controlled from abroad by banksters who want they interest rates. Croatia was sold before it got it "independence", banks were given to mostly Italian banks in 1992 when war was in beginning, foreign product were allowed to enter with low tariffs that was devastating for economy, first president Tudjman (who was by the way when you see his nationalistic speeches probably psycho and was general in former regime and became dictator, the men was utterly comedy itself because when he was younger he was in partisans in 2nd World war, and he ran from battle and wanted to execute innocent civilians, teachers, etc... for some his loony reason, and he wanted to get PHD from history and didn't know to make footnotes, eventually he did get it) met with German chancellor Genscher(there was piece for everybody and vultures were just waiting the opportunity) probably to make a deal to put Croatia in German economic zone in those times, economy was also privatized and given to individuals who were in sympathy with new regime and because of their greed and selling those factories and machinery for fast cash people from then started losing jobs for next 15 years, there's no economy left any more, country lives on debt! But only difference from other countries is that those scandals about corruption are mentioned all the time on TV stations which in a way shows their arrogance in a way and knowledge that people aren't doing nothing about that because they learned to be silent by former regime. And I laughed when miss prime minister said something about choosing EU or protests which is totally different from one another and was playing on people's false beliefs that there would be better but other neighboring countries aren't showing it from their examples and that little economy that is left would be destroyed with no tariff control after that. ex prime minister is waiting for trial because of corruption and was scapegoat in a way so the rest of government can hold their positions, which is funny because they all were sitting at the same table from which they ate and drank and still do. Opposition(social-democrats) which won only one mandate in 15 years(all the others by this conservative nationalistic party) maybe even tried to do something right but couldn't do nothing because the former party did it's job well, but all of them are for EU, and there's EU flag in front of government institutions which against the constitution but nobody gives a dam about that or don't know. then they today say on TV that those protesters were hooligans what a joke! Here are some videos from protests from today and days before! People are desperate and it seems that this isn't the end.

I'm not sure do you know what now is happening in Croatia. I couldn't find and news on forum about this.

We have to big parties, SDP (social democratic party) and HDZ (Croatian democratic community). HDZ was authority in the time of war an after. They steal everything they could. Premier in the past, Ivo Sanader, is in jail for fraud. So you can imagine what rest of them has been doing.
Now authority is SDP. For me, I don't have a proof, but they also a criminals. But...HDZ doing very sneaky and evil stuff, always and also now, especially now. They sent (me and part of the people in Croatia thinks in that way) defenders from the war on Balkan before couple of months to strike in front of Ministry of defence, demanding resignation of ministry of defence and they co-workers. They have been there, living in the tents for all winter and this spring. They gave ultimatum and even the people from government try to talk with them, they refuse all propositions.

Why I mention this on this forum? Because yesterday they came in the front of the government building and repeat they demand. Police ask them to leave after 10 p.m., but they refuse. Instead they escape in the church near bay, stayed all night there. Government knows that they try to provoked them, like always groups do in the patochracy society, so they choose to stay calm.
The biggest problem, at least from my point of view, that media presenting this all situation like is fault of government and not this defenders who is breaking the law for so many months. Maybe is important to accent that leaders of this strike has retirement more that 25.000 kuna or 3000 E, what is much, much more then usually salary in Croatia which is 530 E.

I do not know if I could succed to explain what is going on so if you don't understand is it possible that someone with much more knowledge of english explain better if this is your subject of interest.

This is a link where you can see some photos:

In the MSM there are also headlines that this is sort of a "small coup", because the head of opposition party HDZ is saying that the law about public gatherings should not be implemented on these protests, and one of the chief protesters is calling the police to stop doing their duty and join them in the protests.

In addition, it is reported that yesterday night, veterans also stopped the traffic in front of Ministry of Veterans in Zagreb where they have been camping in tents since September last year. To do that they used gas bottles and placed them in the middle of the street that's one of the most traffic crowded in Zagreb, and they threatened to blow them up. :O
A guy in another article called this a terrorist's act.

Also, the whole situation can be viewed in context of decreasing gap in "popularity" between HDZ and currently ruling party SDP (HDZ had big advantage just few weeks ago) in public pools recently, and the fact that today government announced that Croatia finally, since mid 2008, exited recession (BDP growth 0.5% in first quarter of this year WRT to same period last year _http://www.index.hr/vijesti/clanak/hrvatska-izasla-iz-recesije-bdp-porastao-za-05-posto/822658.aspx (in Croatian)).

The general people's and government's opinion is that behind these protests stands HDZ, and that veterans have been heavily manipulated, IMO.

Saša, thank you for better explanation of our situation in Croatia.

[Nema na čemu] You're welcome.

There are some bits and pieces about situation in Croatia and Balkan in general in this thread (it's mainly about what's been happening in Macedonia recently).

Also, hr.sott.net is quite good source of objective info. ;)

The situation calmed down.
According to live internet coverage, the protesters/veterans are right now singingly going through the center of Zagreb back to their tent in front of Ministry of Veterans. One of veteran chiefs gave a press conference in front of the church, where they took asylum last night when police came to drive them away after 10 PM (by law, gatherings in front of the parliament and government buildings on that square are allowed only from 8 AM until 10 PM, that's how I understood the writings in MSM) and said they accepted the PM's offer to meet on Monday, 10 AM.
