The Living Force
While following some links to vaccine articles that arrived in my email, I noticed that Mercola is hopping on the the bandwagon promoted by Gregg Braden and co.

Everything that exists is connected by a subtle web of energy. It responds to human emotion.
Are miracles possible?
Watch this interview with Gregg Braden to find out.
I had no idea who Braden is, and a forum search didn't reveal a whole lot, so I thought I'd post what I found and what Braden & co. is up to at the moment.

In the post, A belated first post there are references to Braden's published works. There is also the Feb., 2006 comment: "What people like Melissa (and Greg Braden) don't realize is that not facing reality and taking your suffering mixed in with the good, is like living on borrowed money. Eventually the account has to be settled."

So, right now, he's "out there" grabbing attention with pleas like: "The World Is In Crisis, You Can Help!"

Braden & co. appear to be ramping up for some 'global initiatives', like:
A Call To Conscious Evolution: In September of 2008, a group of Evolutionary Leaders (including in alphabetical order, Michael Beckwith, Joan Borysenko, Gregg Braden, Deepak Chopra, Gordon Dveirin, Duane Elgin, Debbie Ford, Ashok Gangadean, Jean Houston, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Bruce Lipton, Lynne McTaggart, Marianne Williamson and many others!) Completed a collective Call to Conscious Evolution: Our Moment of Choice. It is now being circulated throughout the world, giving a voice to our role in the changing world, and an invitation to declare your support for key initiatives!

The Global Coherence Initiative is the first-of-its-kind science-based initiative uniting millions of people in heart-focused care and intention, to shift global consciousness from instability and discord to balance, cooperation and enduring peace! This project is designed to help individuals and groups work together, synchronistically and strategically to increase the impact of their efforts to create positive global change.Together we will

* Increase personal coherence for the benefit of ourselves and the planet
* Help shift the planetary consciousness baseline from self-centeredness to wholeness care
* Increase connection and social harmony
* Empower our ability to navigate through global changes with less stress and more ease
* Empower environmental responsibility and stewardship of the planet

The Global Coherence Project
Basically, its about guiding people by offering important and timely suggestions on what and where to focus intentions.
Then, the Project will track and monitor changes in the earth's geomagnetic field and the potential effects of heart-coherent intentions on this field. Or, more specifically: include earth monitoring, using advance sensing technology that will allow us to observe changes in the earth's magnetic field and test the hypothesis that the earth's field is affected by mass human emotion, whether it is positive or negative.
And all of this hoopla based on Quantum Scientific studies that demonstrate a relationship between observer and the observed, re-translated into a vague new agey generality that "we are affecting our world" as a basis for all the activity?

And there is this "Visionary Film":

I guess this description is little more than self promotion:
New York Times best selling author Gregg Braden is internationally renowned as a pioneer in bridging science and spirituality. Following a successful career as a Computer Geologist for Phillips Petroleum during the 1970s energy crisis, he became a Senior Computer Systems Designer for Martin Marietta Defense Systems during the last year of the Cold War. In 1991 he was appointed the first Technical Operations Manager for Cisco Systems where he led the development of the global support team that assures the reliability of today’s Internet. For more than 22 years, Gregg has searched high mountain villages, remote monasteries, and forgotten texts to uncover their timeless secrets. To date, his work has led to such paradigm-shattering books as The Isaiah Effect, The God Code, The Divine Matrix and his 2008 release, The Spontaneous Healing of Belief: Shattering the Paradigm of False Limits. Gregg’s work is now published in 17 languages and 27 countries...
New York Times best selling author??

On the website: A Rough Guide to New Age Teachers, Andrew P writes:
I first heard of Gregg Braden when he published his book, Awakening to Zero Point back in 1995. To myself and to many others interested in New Age spirituality and science, this book was a revelation — one of the most exciting contemporary books on spirituality and our collective destiny to have been published. What is more, Braden presented himself as a scientist and geologist, with access to the very latest research findings and "inside" scientific opinion from around the world, so the information he presented seemed to be corroborated by the leading-edge scientific community.

Braden's next book, Walking Between The Worlds, explored the science of compassion, emotion and prayer, relating to 2000 years old Essene texts. I found the book hugely inspiring and it certainly established Braden as a modern day prophet and spiritual teacher.

A few years later Braden brought out a third book called The Isaiah Effect which is based around one of the documents among the Dead Sea Scrolls called the Isaiah Scroll. What was remarkable about this scroll is that it was the only one among the 25,000 fragments of papyrus, parchment and hammered copper, collectively known as the Dead Sea Scrolls, that was completely intact. Braden's suggestion is that Isaiah, the first Old Testament prophet, left precise instructions to the people of the future, us, on how to effectively pray. Once again, this book was a huge hit in the New Age community, and by this time, Braden had become one of the leading lights on the New Age lecture circuit, with his work regarded as an important bridge between the scientific and spiritual worlds.

Then, he made a mistake: in January 2004, he published a new book, The God Code, in which he claimed to have found a secret message in our DNA from the Creator Herself: "God Eternal within the body." My introduction to this book was actually a lecture that he gave in London a few months after publication. The mistake he made was to present evidence for his theory that was so obviously contrived that it broke the spell for many of us that had previously regarded him as a modern day prophet. I wrote of my experience at that lecture in an article that I published here on Energygrid.
The article Andrew refers to is:
In "A critique of... The God Code", Andrew P writes:

The crux of The God Code is that our DNA sequence, when read by assigning Hebrew characters to the base sequence, spells out the words of our Creator. His mystical justification for this comes from the Sefer Yetzirah (The Book of Creation) which is one of the central texts in the Kabala tradition. Braden gives us a quote from this mystical text which says, "Within the letter is a great, concealed mystical exalted secret… from which everything was created."
{...}
The holes in his theory are very easy to spot and as wide as the Grand Canyon. Braden links the elements hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and carbon to the Hebrew Alphabet with "atomic mass". But the respective atomic masses of these elements, which he gives as 1, 5, 6 and 3, are actually 1, 14, 16 and 12. To make the evidence fit, he has resorted to a numerological trick: 14 becomes 1 + 4 = 5; 16 becomes… well 6 (it does have 6 valence electrons though!); and 12 becomes 1 + 2 = 3. Also, the 1st letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is actually alep. Yod, the Y in his YH VG translation, is Hebrew letter number 10. But Braden justifies calling 10 a 1 because 10 = 1 + 0 = 1.
{...}
So his revelation is is just a clever numerological trick that is faintly entertaining. 4 letters? Big deal! But to base a whole scientific theory on such contrivance is pure fantasy.
{...}
But how does he cover up the lack of scientific or logical justification for his assertion of DNA being a transcript of the Hebrew alphabet? It was simple: he continually played the "I don't have the time to go into all the science" card whilst rushing through a padded out explanation of his theory in 30 minutes.
I've been no stranger to idea systems based on unifield field theories since I picked up my first book on Theosophy and laid down Wallace Ward's 'fixed ether field of existence and consciousness Thinkon units', but what does any of this have to do with identifying and neutralizing psychopathy and ponerization? Nothing, as far as I can see. Which is probably why no help will be forthcoming from that quarter.

I just thought I would post this for the benefit of anyone who may find it useful.

I've actually heard of this guy before, but I didn't know too much about him. I was turned off a bit when I first saw him.

He was actually on a program on the History channel. I think it was called Nostradamus 2012. My mom was quite taken with him, which prompted me to try to get her to read The Wave. She started reading, got tired, went to bed, and never looked at it again. :-P But she still remember this guy. Blah.

Thanks for putting this together, Buddy -- its probably about time we had a special Gregg Braden thread on this board. I know he gets plugged from time to time by Whitley Strieber, but otherwise seems to be one of those New Agers that hangs around the periphery without making really big splashes -- very accessible to audiences like those who watch the kinds of shows described above by Brenda86. The only book of his I ever actually read was The God Code, which is the one that gets roundly criticized toward the end of your post. I was disappointed by it, and never went back to look at anything else.

I also think that Buddy should publish his collected data on his blog. He's turning into quite the researcher and connector of dots!

If I'm not mistaken, I recall Gregg Braden either touring with, holding classes with, or somehow associated with Drunvalo Melchizedek who was mentioned in the transcripts as not good.

Had gone to a New Age trade show in 2008 in Denver Colorado and Greg Braden was there. People were swarming around him. This usually is a clue for me to walk in the opposite direction. But when I was handed his book, thought reading it would help me see what the hype was about. Disappointing for me as well.

This raised my eyebrows some. Big business background, is this supposed to give him his "New Age" credibility?

Greg Braden was also on the syfy channels latest 2012 documentary , "2012, Startling New Secrets". It was on in early November.
So apparently he has become one of the experts on this subject as well. It was full of a lot of assumptions. Richard Hoagland was also an "expert speaker", if this gives a hint at all of how "reliable" the information was.

One thing though they did a part of looking for the historical Labyrinth and believed if they could just find it, it would give us all the answers about the up and coming destruction of the Earth and how we can avoid it. They were looking in Hawara, Egypt.

Laura's article regarding the labyrinth can be found here
http://www.cassiopaea.org/cass/Laura-Knight-Jadczyk/article-lkj-04-03-06.htm (me thinks they were searching in the wrong place for this labyrinth.)

You are right.

I have followed seven or eight years ago a course with Drunvalo Melchizedek and talking about Gregg Braden, he said my good friend Gregg. Both are new age gurus.

Excellent! And now you see how easy it is to be a blogger! If something interests you, do some research, put it together for an audience (practice on us here) and then, voila! you have a blog post!

This is interesting. I have a friend who's been trying to persuade me to read 'The Divine Matrix' for a while now but have never got round to researching the author. FWIW, he also seems to be associating with the 'motivational speaker', promoter of 'The Secret' and all round New-Age dodgepot James Arthur Ray:

_http://blog.jamesray.com/2009/09/join-gregg-braden-and-me-on-special.html

I think any association with this individual should send alarm bells ringing. James Arthur Ray has recently brought attention to himself for hosting a pseudo Native American 'retreat' in Angel Valley, Arizona a few months back in which participants were charged up to eight or nine thousand dollars each to attend. The outcome of the weekend was that three people died and eighteen were hospitalied for burns, dehydration, breathing problems and kidney failure after a sweat lodge ceremony led by the man himself went wrong:

How this man is still walking the streets after this episode is beyond me

Someone lent me a copy of The God Code over a year ago. I never read it because all it took was a little bit of research to see that this guy was simply trying to peddle New Age mumbo-jumbo claptrap, and making lots of money (of course!) in the process. I quietly returned the book to the lender in such a way that no discussion ensued about it. I didn't want to offend their New Age beliefs, knowing that they aren't ready to hear the hard truth.

Al Gore?!!! An Inconvenient Truth??!!! And from Bill Gates!!! to Robert Reich!!! on that list of "Film Leaders"??!!! Do any of these people actually inspire confidence in any thinking person? They've been "Leaders" (both Corporate and Gov./Political) for how long now? And what have they accomplished?! We know Al Gore's Truth is a complete FRAUD!!! And if any of these people were capable of and intended to make any beneficial contribution to humanity and the planet, and if the organizations they headed were actually conducive to same, I think things would not be as bad as they are. On the contrary all of these "Leaders" have played their part in bringing us step by step to where we are.

Besides the rest of the mumbo jumbo, even numerologically 16 does NOT equal 6, but equals 7!! 1+6=7. I mean this is even more SLOPPY nonsense than usual with this kind of thing. And if he doesn't "have the time to go into all the science," why not reference more documents the audience could peruse at their own convenience or include it in the references for his book?

Buddy said:

Yup. Typical disinformation: wrap a kernel of truth in a whole lot of nonsense.

Yeah, that tragic incident was emblematic of the whole scene where people who are searching for something "different," spiritually effective and inspiring, often end up: being used, abused, manipulated, ripped-off, and even sadly enough, dead or injured. BTW, SOTT carried several articles about that sad event.
