Everyone is so sweet! I thought I might check in through the day to share it with you.
I've had breakfast - excellent bacon and sausages this morning. I ate an egg for the first time in a couple of weeks. I had cut them out to see if the tendonitis in my left arm would go away. It didn't, so I had the egg!
I wrote some forum posts, went through a couple hundred emails (beginning at about 7 a.m.) - about 70% were spam so I could just delete, thank goodness!
Those of you who have been following our Caesar thread know that I'm digging through a bunch of texts - with forum helpers - trying to achieve some resolution about the historical timeline problems. There will be more of that today because I have a stack of printed papers on my desk to go through. But, I can only load so much data in at one time, so....
I also plan to spend an hour or two organizing all the papers I've printed and read up to this point. I want to put them in binders according to specific subject matter and get them on the bookshelf so I can have easier access to them. That means writing up a TOC for each volume as well. What good is a bunch of research if you can't put your hands on the item you need because there is just a mountain of it?
I also want to spend about an hour today putting labels on books. The project of getting our 10K plus volume library organized for easy retrieval and replacement via Dewey Decimal system has been ongoing for about a year. I don't have time to devote to it exclusively, but the idea is to database all books, print labels and attach them, and finally, reorganize placement according to the numbers. I also want to print a card catalog so that it is not just electronic.
I believe the crew are preparing a roast beast for a late-lunch/early dinner later today. I was thinking that I would make a paleo chocolate mousse for them. I should actually do that first so it can "set" in the fridge until dinner time.
So, let me go and get started and ya'll now have a pretty good idea of what I'm up to on my birthday!
