High Dose Melatonin Therapy

Good to know. I'm also pretty sensitive to melatonin. For me 0.5mg is enough to give me trouble falling asleep, or extremely restless sleep, waking up multiple times during the night, so I haven't touched it for a while.

Looking through the transcripts, I found this mentioned:

Q: (L) When L__ took the Melatonin the other night, how come he was unable to sleep?

A: Adjusting to the melatonin.

So maybe I should give it a try again, keeping to low doses, or slowly increasing them.

The other thing you could try is to take the melatonin 1-2 hours before bed, I got tested by my kinesiologist and she recommended I take it 2 hours before bed and I feel less groggy in the morning .. I feel like Ihave intense dreams now but I don’t wake up or remember them, I just feel that I’ve been processing fwiw

I developed tolerance over time, yes. i take 2 mg sustained release. No grogginess in the morning anymore. My dreams were also quite intense, sometimes still are. But I take that to be part of the working through blockages mentioned by the Cs. Plus sometimes it makes sense to see the demon symbolically, not literally - and explore what that symbol means for you. I found that keeping a regular dream journal was helpful.
Oh that’s good to know, I’ll stick with it then. I have plenty of blockages that I can identify so can only imagine the ones I don’t know about. I can guess that the possessed massage roller was about some stored blockages in my leg and hip. It will be interesting to see what comes up in the whacko dreams.

I started to take melatonin some months ago. It seems that I was lucky to get a good product. It was natural caps with no additives of 3mg. I slowly went up to 10mg. My dreams got much more vivid and better, deeper sleep. I noticed that also during the day I was more stable (less background anxiety) and more focused. I was very happy to have started with melatonin and eager to continue.
When wanting to reorder, I noticed this brand does not exist anymore. Then I ordered two other melatonin products (first this and then this), choosing them because of no additives. To my surprise none of them had any effect. I went up to 10mg, even then I would not notice any effect. The quality of melatonin products (even those with no additives) seem to differ a lot. What do you think? Has any of you had similar experiences?

I purchase Life Extension melatonin and have had good luck with it. I ran out and bought some melatonin locally at a shop and it didn’t do anything!

So it seems potency differs. There’s a sale right now at lifeextension.com. I paid something like $4.64 for 60 count bottle of 3 mg melatonin. Don’t know how much international shipping would be. Maybe someone can recommend a good one you can find in Europe @Breo

Interesting. So this seems to happen more often that quality or potency changes.
I´d be grateful for a quality melatonin recommendation within Europe.

I’m using the NOW brand, it’s only additive is rice flour. It’s not perfect, but pretty darn close and it works a charm. I’ve never tried any other brands, I’ve got a large stockpile of this one because I wanted to try high dose therapy, so looks like I’ll have enough to last a long while if I can barely tolerate 1g.

It is a tiny bit early for an official recommendation as I started taking melatonin just recently. What seems to work for me is a spray branded Avitale Melatonin 1,9 mg/30 ml bottle. No more sleepless nights. I bought it in Germany from an online pharmacy shop-apotheke.com around 10 €.
