Hillary Clinton Has Re-Surfaced

Hillary Clinton finally holds a press conference

Hillary Clinton gave her first formal press conference in more than nine months on Thursday and, all things considered, it was a non-event.

Which might make you wonder: Why did it take so long?

In recent weeks, the national media have been clamoring for Clinton to take formal questions from the press. Her refusal to meet reporters on their terms was described by turns as "troubling" (by Ruth Marcus of The Washington Post) and "beyond ridiculous" (by her colleague Chris Cillizza).

It was also strategic: Donald Trump was out on the campaign trail drawing negative headlines nearly every day, and there was no reason to risk a gaffe or controversial remark that might get in the way of that.

But in the wake of a performance at Wednesday night's NBC "Commander-in-Chief Forum" that some observers saw as sub-par, Clinton appeared to have decided it was finally time to meet the demands of her press corps. She had held gaggles over Labor Day weekend; now, she would take questions from the podium.

Standing on the tarmac at the Westchester County Airport, the Democratic presidential nominee spent four minutes slamming Trump as ill-informed on foreign policy before fielding five questions from reporters.

The five questions ranged from polls to process to policy specifics, but none seemed to faze Clinton.

Asked why she didn't have a more commanding lead over Trump, she said the race was always going to be close but her campaign was "in a strong position."

Asked about her promise to not put troops in Iraq, she reiterated her belief that "putting a big contingent of American grounds troops on the ground in Iraq and Syria would not be in the best interest in the fight against ISIS an other terrorist groups."

Asked to respond to a criticism from Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus that she was too serious and didn't smile enough at Thursday night's forum -- a remark many liberals criticized as sexist -- she said that these were "serious issues" that warranted serious responses, and said she would leave the questions about gender to journalists and campaign historians.

And so, in a press conference that lasted less than 20 minutes, Clinton achieved exactly what she set out to do: End the criticisms that she had gone the entire year without a press conference, and move the narrative beyond Thursday night's forum.

NYTimes makes it sound way more interesting and significant:

Then there's this but not sure of details: where, when.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton delivered a keynote speech at the National Baptist Convention Thursday night, but photos show that many people failed to show up.

Apparently she wrote a blog post:

The article reports at the end:
This week, though, as Clinton returned to the campaign trail, she welcomed reporters onto her new campaign plane and has begun speaking more often with them -- she held a press conference on the tarmac of the airport in White Plains, New York Thursday.

There are two stories milling around involving Hilary Clinton and also US Navy Seal Commander Job W. Price both of which could now totally be false if this report is correct………I will let you decide its authenticity!!

(Note - it's a long article but worth the read. US Navy Seal Commander Job W. Price didn't commit suicide in southern Afghanistan but died in a plane crash in Iran, while Killery survived. )

Thank you for bringing that story up, Angelburst. A very good find in the memory hole. I remember it at the time about the American plane landing in Iran and which was allowed to take off again after repairs had been done. It was quite mysterious and also that the Iranian president at the time Ahmadinejad made an unexpected visit to Ahvaz. Why would he do that and why did the Iranians just let it go, even though the plane had violated Iranian airspace in a big way? Those were the questions at the time. After that Hillary suddenly cancelled her diary appointments. The story disappeared with no follow up and yet Iran and the US were not officially on the best of terms to put it mildly, due to the sanctions regime and the drumbeat for war on Iran.

It could help to explain her "fall" and the protracted recovery period with the current mental illness etc. being partly due to the crash. Just as it could explain her sudden departure as secretary of state.

But of course, even if it can help to explain events, then it does not necessarily mean that it actually is what happened.

Re speculation about the two candidates expiring before the election, I posted these two articles on the other Killery thread - Killary Clinton, The Donald, or Jill Stein: The US election:

A Candidate's Death Could Delay or Eliminate the Presidential Election

Chaos would ensue if a vacancy emerges near Election Day.

American democracy would break new ground if Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump left a presidential ticket vacancy before the Nov. 8 general election.

The presidential election could be delayed or scrapped altogether if conspiracy theories become predictive and a candidate dies or drops out before Nov. 8. The perhaps equally startling alternative, if there's enough time: Small groups of people hand-picking a replacement pursuant to obscure party rules.

The scenarios have been seriously considered by few outside of the legal community and likely are too morbid for polite discussion in politically mixed company. But prominent law professors have pondered the effects and possible ways to address a late-date vacancy.

"There's nothing in the Constitution which requires a popular election for the electors serving in the Electoral College," says John Nagle, a law professor at the University of Notre Dame, meaning the body that officially elects presidents could convene without the general public voting.

"It's up to each state legislature to decide how they want to choose the state's electors," Nagle says. "It may be a situation in which the fact that we have an Electoral College, rather than direct voting for presidential candidates, may prove to be helpful."

Both major parties do have rules for presidential ticket replacements, however, and Congress has the power to change the election date under Article II of the Constitution, which allows federal lawmakers to set dates for the selection of presidential electors and when those electors will vote.

But Congress would be up against a de facto December deadline, as the Constitution's 20th Amendment requires that congressional terms expire Jan. 3 and presidential terms on Jan. 20. Though it's conceivable to split legislative and presidential elections, they generally happen at the same time. And if the entire general election were to be moved after Jan. 3, Congress effectively would have voted themselves out of office.

Yale Law School professor Akhil Reed Amar considers in a 1994 article in the Arkansas Law Review the possibility of a special presidential election being pushed to after Jan. 20, with the speaker of the House serving as acting president until an election could pick "a real president for the remainder of the term." But he tells U.S. News that scenario probably is far-fetched.

Is it possible for the election to be delayed until after Jan. 20, leaving both the offices of president and vice president temporarily vacant? Perhaps, Amar says, but "it wouldn't make sense if it were permissible, given there actually are answers. Why would you ever do that?"

Amar recommends an up to four-week postponement of Election Day if a candidate dies just before voting, or even if there's a major terrorist attack.

The possible last-minute replacement of a candidate attracts some cyclical coverage, but this year the scenario would play out after consistent conjecture about the health of Democrat Hillary Clinton and possible hidden agenda of Republican Donald Trump.

Trump, 70, would be the oldest person elected president
, but his health has received less coverage over the election cycle than apparently unfounded speculation he will drop out. Clinton, 69 in October, would be the second oldest president-elect, months younger than Ronald Reagan in 1980.

Although Clinton's coughs and stumbling have earned speculative headlines on the news-driving Drudge Report, her doctor, Lisa Bardack, said she "is in excellent physical condition and fit to serve." Trump physician Harold Bornstein, meanwhile, wrote he would be "the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency."

Old age doesn’t rule out a full presidency. Reagan served two terms before dying at 93 in 2004. Other recent officeholders have lived beyond the life expectancy for the general population. Gerald Ford died in 2006 at 93. George H.W. Bush, 92, and Jimmy Carter, 91, are still living.

If something were to happen to Clinton or Trump before the election, rules established by the Republican and Democratic parties do offer guidelines for what to do.

Obama Admin Wants to Take Over Jurisdiction of US Elections – Form Central Election System

So this is how Hillary Clinton wins…
The Obama administration wants to take control away from the states and form a central government election system.

Because we know there is no bias in Washington DC – a district that votes 90% Democrat.

The Washington Examiner
reported:

"DHS has a vital security role in 16 areas of critical infrastructure and they provide a model for what the department and Johnson could have in mind for the election.

DHS describes it this way on their website: “There are 16 critical infrastructure sectors whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof.”

A White House policy directive adds, “The federal government also has a responsibility to strengthen the security and resilience of its own critical infrastructure, for the continuity of national essential functions, and to organize itself to partner effectively with and add value to the security and resilience efforts of critical infrastructure owners and operators.”

At the time, Johnson did not mention specific security issues, but the FBI has since cited one hack and another attempt.

Johnson also said that the big issue at hand is that there isn’t a central election system since the states run elections. “There’s no one federal election system. There are some 9,000 jurisdictions involved in the election process,” Johnson said.

[Jeh Johnson is the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.]

Clinton Said in Good Health, Despite Voice Problems : Medical: He still struggles with chronic hoarseness, but doctors report that the Democratic candidate checks out fine.

October 15, 1992|DAVID LAUTER | TIMES STAFF WRITER

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Democratic presidential nominee Bill Clinton struggled with continuing voice problems Wednesday as his campaign released medical reports indicating he is otherwise in good health.

The letters issued by four of Clinton's doctors, however, were less extensive than materials provided by other presidential campaigns in recent years, preventing outsiders from making a complete evaluation of Clinton's physical condition.

Bush campaign officials also have declined requests for interviews with the President's physician. A spokeswoman for the Perot campaign said she did not know who his physician was. His campaign has released no specific information about his medical history.

The letters show, for example, that Clinton, who is 46, took treadmill stress tests annually from 1984 through 1986 and once more several weeks before announcing his presidential bid last year. The tests indicated no heart problems, according to his cardiologist, Dr. Andrew G. Kumpuris of Little Rock. But Kumpuris did not say why the tests were given in the first place. Clinton aide Betsey Wright said the tests "were just something the governor wanted to do."

The doctors' letters indicate that Clinton's blood pressure is normal, that exercise and a low-fat diet have helped him lower his cholesterol level, which had been somewhat high, and that he has a mild hearing loss, which an aide said the Arkansas governor attributes to "loud rock music and shotguns"--Clinton used to hunt--when he was younger.

These days, however, Clinton's chief medical concern is his voice--hoarse, raspy and weak from the combination of months on the campaign trail, a throat infection and chronic allergies. Doctors have been urging him to rest and stop talking--a difficult task for the voluble candidate--in preparation for today's debate with President Bush and independent candidate Ross Perot.

After a day of almost total silence Tuesday, aides said Wednesday morning that Clinton's voice had improved. He still, however, sounded hoarse after a morning jog as he praised the debate performance of his vice presidential candidate, Tennessee Sen. Al Gore, in response to a reporter's question. And later in the day--after several hours of debate preparation--Clinton's voice had weakened further, media adviser Frank Greer reported.

Despite the problems, however, Clinton aides said the debate would go on as scheduled. "With the microphones they have, people will be able to hear him even if he whispers," one aide said. "He may sound a little odd, but it will work."

Clinton has suffered from voice strain on and off throughout his political career and, particularly, during the grueling months of the current campaign. In addition to rest, the doctors have recommended tea with honey and lemon, throat lozenges and occasional throat sprays of the sort singers use. To keep his allergies at bay, aides scour his hotel rooms to remove perfumed objects, such as potpourris, and place humidifiers in the rooms to avoid excessive dryness.

According to his allergist, Clinton is allergic to dust, mold, pollen and the family cat. He also has allergies to certain foods, including some alcoholic beverages and milk and beef, both of which he generally avoids.

For at least a year, Clinton has taken allergy shots to reduce his sensitivity to those irritants. He also has taken a prescription antihistamine, Hismanal, to fend off allergic problems.

Unlike many antihistamines, Hismanal "doesn't cause drowsiness" and is therefore "a good choice, a good drug," said Dr. Daniel Ein, an allergist who is chairman of the board of the medical society of the District of Columbia.

Other than the allergies, Clinton's doctors reported few health problems--a bout of hemorrhoids in 1984, heartburn and some problems keeping his weight down, both problems that have been aggravated by the campaigning of the last year.

The ideal weight for a man of Clinton's age and height, 6 feet 2, would be slightly more than 200 pounds. At the worst of his weight problems this spring he came close to 240, but now weighs about 215 pounds, aides say.

Clinton went on a low-fat diet about a year ago after a medical examination in September, 1991--shortly before he announced his presidential candidacy--found a cholesterol level of 227, which doctors consider somewhat high. A new round of blood tests taken earlier this week indicate the diet and regular exercise have worked, and Clinton's cholesterol level is now down to 184, well within the normal range.

Clinton's blood pressure of 135/70 also is normal, and his pulse rate of 75 beats per minute is considered average.

"Sounds like he's a very healthy man," Ein said after reviewing the information released by Clinton's doctors.

Moving to Washington might make Clinton somewhat healthier, at least as far as his allergies go, Ein added. "Just the change can make a difference."

Times staff writer Marlene Cimons in Washington contributed to this story.

In Cleveland, at the beginning of Killary's four minute coughing spell, she indicated she was allergic to Trump!

One of things that came to mind, as far back as the Benghazi hearings, was that she might be "faking ill health" so as not, to be accountable for her actions or go into detail on certain subjects. There were reports of her wearing weird glasses and all kinds of speculation on her health status.

In the last two months or so, with claims of "leaked emails" from an unsecure server, etc. against security protocols for Government communication, there's an increase "in weirdness" in Killery's behavior?

Recent episodes - do point to something serious with her health. Not only mentally but her public appearances give the over-all impression of "someone who just rolled out of bed"?

Not to sound sarcastic, as it's an observation but this is a woman who has had everything at her finger tips since her late 20's or earlier. She was "a mover and shaker" in the elite fast crowd and so was Bill. Money and connections are no obstacle and they both lived in the fast track. The way I get in a car and visit the local grocery store, they hop on a private jet and land in another Country. In the line of healthcare, everything and anything is at their disposal and price/affordability is not an obstacle or second thought - neither is plastic surgery and organ replacement - so why the "advanced" physical and mental breakdowns, especially with Killery?

One could even speculate that some mind enhancing programming has been inserted along the way? Could a possible concussion from a sudden impact, with loss of consciousness, inflict damage that stripped some of the programming, causing the brain to misfire or over compensate signals to bodily functions (foggy memory, balance problems and incontinence) while accelerating the aging process?

When Bill was in Office, there were rumors circulating that Killary wanted to be the first woman President, before the Monica scandal broke out.

Laura said:
Now that is extremely interesting and makes sense. What if she's running for president because she knows she's gonna die and she just wants it before she does? And she doesn't care how dirty she fights because it's just about winning at any cost?

Well, hopefully it will be "I came, I coughed, I died... ha ha ha" BEFORE the election.

What will the democrats do then? Sanders?

Winning at any cost - might be the bottom line? And if she wins (and dies) where does that leave the American public? Is the nominated running mate, as Vice President, the one we really should be focusing on? His background, his connections and where he stands on issues like the wars in the Middle East and on domestic issues at home?

so why the "advanced" physical and mental breakdowns, especially with Killery?

I see your point. One thing that could explain accelerated degradation might be the toll that is being taken on the ones who fully embrace the path of lies and destruction.

A complete alignment with SDS "values" might also mean a full integration in the SDS pyramidal food chain, where Killery might do a lot of feeding on the ones lower in the hierarchy, but maybe be even more fed upon by the ones higher in the hierarchy.

When reading about Killery overcoagulation, I thought it was rather interesting that this individual, that led to bloodbaths in the four corners of the planet, thousands if not millions of corpses covered with coagulated blood, ends up tormented by overcoagulation.

This is what I was wondering, too. So what about this Hillary VP choice, Tim Kaine (caught a few SoTT article on him). So if she were to pass while in office, Kaine would be ushered in like LBJ coming to power after Kennedy's murder. The skinny on Kaine does not look good - I'm sure the Pres candidate does not pick the VP in many/most cases, they are told who will be picked.

Kaine is for banking deregulation and the TPP and perhaps it does not really matter what he says on a range of issues, as he is and will be just a puppet. Obama said many things BEFORE becoming the president, but most of the promises were never kept. Those who are in positions with the possibility of becoming the next president will be the ones that the system will be happy with. They are men/women of the system and will uphold that no matter what as if they don't, they will get a quick ticket to 5D as history has shown over and over again.

The real change will not happen from the top down within the empirial system. So even concentrating on the VP candidates as I also suggested yesterday will probably yield very little. Just like very little truth can be gleaned from looking at a lie from all angles; in the end it will still just be a lie. The power in the lie remains as long as people believe that lie to be the truth. When they stop believing that lie, the emperor is seen as naked and the imagined exceptionalist power is gone. At least that is how it appears to me at the moment.

Apparently, Killery had one more medical episode during the 9/11 ceremony. This should be taken with a grain of salt because, so far, there is only one source: Fox News.

Now, NBC (not an anti Killery media outlet) is also reporting the incident:

Hillary Clinton fell ill and may have fainted at the 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero Sunday morning, two senior law enforcement sources told NBC News.

‎She was taken by her van from the memorial, the sources said. The NYPD was sent to pick up a shoe that fell off her foot.

Clinton's campaign said she left the ceremony after feeling "overheated" and is now "feeling much better."

"Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen," campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement. "During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter's apartment, and is feeling much better."

While the Clinton's campaign team confirms the incident they might downplay/damage control it.

The support and coverup of visuals by the staff shows they are quite used to this type of incident. Her blaming it on the weather reminds me of those rare battles in history where quirks in the weather conditions have resulted in a tipping of the balance one way or another. Seems like a stiff breeze is all that you need to knock her over.
