The Home Office in Westminster is on lockdown after a "man in a suit" was stabbed outside.

Armed police are at the scene and a cordon has been put in place, after it is reported the victim headed into the building for help.
Witnesses have reported seeing a man with a "bloodied face" being led out by paramedics.
Others have said there are "bloody tissues in the entrance hall."
Police say there is no suggestion the incident is terrorist-related.
There are unconfirmed reports that the victim was a member of Home Office staff.

Another eyewitness claims a "man in a suit" was stabbed outside and made his way into the headquarters, on Marsham Street, for help.
Police officers on motorbikes and paramedics arrived at the scene at around 1.20pm.
Witnesses at the scene say the person who stabbed the victim ran off.
The victim was seen being brought out and taken away in an ambulance.
Metropolitan Police and the Home Office have been approached for comment.
A police spokesman said: "Police called at 13:06 to Marsham Street, Westminster following a report of a man with a knife.

"Officers attended to find one man with knife injuries. London Ambulance Service attended where they are currently with the injured man. One man arrested and is in custody. More to follow."

A man was stabbed near British government offices in central London on Thursday, police said, adding the incident was not thought to be terrorism-related.
Police said they were called to Marsham Street where the Home Office (interior ministry) is located after a report of a man armed with a knife outside.

Armed officers responded and found a man in his 60s with knife wounds. London Ambulance Service said the victim was taken to a major trauma center but his injuries were later confirmed to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

A Reuters photographer saw a man with facial injuries and blood on his front being led from the Home Office building.

“All my thoughts are with the victim and their family following horrific unprovoked knife attack on Marsham Street,” Home Secretary (interior minister) Priti Patel said on Twitter.

Officers arrested a 29-year old man nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A police spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the incident was linked to the Home Office’s work but there was no suggestion it was terrorism-related.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident,” a police statement said. “We are keeping an open mind about any possible motive at this early stage.”
