Homeopathy - any opinions?

Those C's are full of interesting nuggets of information. I was reading where they said for chronic problems, homeopaths and naturopaths are better than regular doctors? Anyone have any experiences with a homeopath they'd care to share?

Most helath problems these days are due to lack of proper nutrition. The Chinese say: If you didn't catch it (ie. the flu), you created it. A doctor's job is to find and treat problem(s) when they arise. Any proper herbal practitioner's job is to find the problem before it becomes one or even worsens. The Chinese also say: If you give you're body the right tools, it will heal itself.

"Before the age of 30, you cheat disease. After the age of 30, disease cheats you", or so says a local traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. I believe her. It's been my life experience that the fewer times you see an allopathic doctor (conventional doctor), the fewer health complications you will have. As a matter of fact, an internationally esteemed holistic veterinary friend of mine even says, "the fewer times your pet sees an allopathic vet, the longer it will live." Basically, you cannot heal an organism by focusing on singular symptoms while ignoring the health of the organism as a whole. 'As a whole' means physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Until you address all issues as they work together, you are adding to the problem.

Here here! Ever since I started doing my own research regarding diet and healthy lifestyle, and avoided allopaths like the plague, my health has undergone a striking improvement!

Good Morning All, My feeling is Main Stream Medical is Taught to Prescribe Drugs and Butcher. We visited a well known naturopath in Mesa Az. A first time visit and check up for my husbands Hep C. and what he said was the only reason he was still alive was because we had never seen a regular Dr. and we were doing what we learned from a website curezone. BTW, He is now 6 years over his Expiration Date. You have to be willing to take full responsibility for your health and welfare. If you don't have a medical card NOBODY cares about you.

"Prescribe Drugs and Butcher" ? yes, exactly that.

my mother was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hards/arms, had physiotherapy which worked wonders. her 'normal' doctor then persuaded her that physio is rubbish and the effects wouldn't last, and persuaded her to have surgery on one hand.

Guess which hand has had problems ever since, and which hand is now fine? you got it.

Vinny, Sorry about your mom.... At least she's alive. Sometimes a hand or arm will heal badly because of the surgeon- a tangle of nerves and tendons sometimes they have to scrape the bone or for whatever reason the hand/ arm heals badly. Sometimes, the scare tissue stops the flow of electricity like a meridian or the scare tissue is binding a nerve. I'd like you to know about dissolving that scare tissue. My sister just had arm surgery a ganglia thing and she's doing unbelievable (to quote her Sargon). Also I'd like you to know about MSM. Be Well.... :)

II. Rationale of Therapy

The treatment of cutaneous scars is covered in all readings but two which deal with adhesion's and chronic inflammation. These two will be discussed separately at the conclusion of this review.
In most of the readings on cutaneous scars, by which is meant healed wounds, camphorated oil was suggested, either alone, or alternated with olive oil and tincture of myrrh, or diluted with other oils. The best description of the effects of these prescribed medicines is given here:

... olive oil - properly prepared (hence pure olive oil should always be used) - is one of the most effective agents for stimulating muscular activity, or mucous membrane activity, that may be applied to a body ... tincture of myrrh acts with the pores of the skin in such a manner as to strike in, causing the circulation to be carried to affected parts [scars] ... camphorated oil is merely the same basic force [olive oil?] to which has been added properties of camphor in more or less its raw or original state, than the spirits of same. Such activity in the epidermis is not only to produce soothing to affected areas but to stimulate the circulation in such effectual ways and manners as to combine with the other properties in bringing what will be determined, in the course of two to two-and-a-half years, a new skin! (440-3)

The muscle activity stimulated by the olive oil may refer not only to striated skeletal muscle, but also to the smooth muscle in the intestinal walls, and in the walls of small arteries and arterioles. Perhaps such activity stimulates the circulation within the scar tissue leading toward that activity which is necessary to absorb the scar collagen. Both the camphor and tincture of myrrh were also described as stimulating the circulation. Camphor is also called a soothing force. Camphor is classified by Goodman and Gilman as a hydroaromatic gum obtained from the bark and wood of the tree, Cinnamomum camphora, which is grown in Taiwan and Japan. It is classed as a rubefacient, which means it produces capillary dilatation, in accordance with the Cayce information. If taken internally it causes nausea and vomiting, and large doses of solid camphor in children may cause convulsions. Therefore, camphor lotions should be kept out of the reach of children.

III. Suggested Therapeutic Regimen

Since camphorated oil appears to be the key to the treatment of cutaneous scars, it is important that it be accurately defined. Camphorated oil is no longer made commercially as it was in Cayce's day. At that time, it was made with natural gum camphor in olive oil. Presently available is a synthetic camphor in cottonseed oil; therefore, it may not be a satisfactory substitute for the camphorated oil referred to in the readings.

Case [440] was experiencing extensive scarring on the legs and abdomen. Massage was suggested alternating equal parts of tincture of myrrh and olive oil on one day followed the next day by camphorated oil. (The olive oil is to be heated before adding the tincture of myrrh, and only enough for the day's massage is to be prepared.) This sounds like an ideal program for extensive scars.

The successful removal of severe burn scars on [2015] was accomplished with a formula that has become a classic Cayce remedy:

Camphorated oil, 2 ounces
Lanolin, dissolved, 1/2 teaspoon
Peanut oil, 1 ounce
Dr. James L. Rowland, D.O., Ph.D., of Kansas City, apparently has used this lotion successfully in wound scars and keloids. The lotion should be gently massaged into and around the scar with the fingertips once or twice a day.
For active acne in case [528], an interesting lotion was prescribed:

Camphorated oil, 2 parts
Witch hazel, 1 part
Russian white oil, 1 part
This lotion must be shaken very well and massaged for several minutes into the acne areas twice a day. It was said to help clear the skin and treat and prevent scars as well. (Nujol is one form of Russian white oil.)
Note that the camphorated Oil is diluted about in half in the last two formulas. A similar dilution was suggested in a burn scar case (48717), but the diluent was sweet Oil (olive oil).

Case [40031 had severe scarring, Possibly with calification and contractures, which followed an injury. Treatment was aimepd at removing the scar by absorption and excretion through the respiratory, perspiratory, and alimentary systems. Local therapy consisted of hot Epsom salts packs followed by massage using cocoa butter. Exercise, hydrotherapy, colonics, and diet were also part of the program.

Finally, in any healing, the spiritual status of the patient ma be most important.

Let the scars be removed from the own mental, the own spiritual and mental self. Turn to those things of making application of the fruits of the spirit of truth, love, patience, gentleness, kindness, long-suffering, brotherly love, putting away those little tendencies for being "catty" at times or being selfish or expressing jealousy and such.
Let that mind be in thee as was in Him, who is the way and the truth and the light, and He will make the light of love so shine through thy countenance that few, if any, will ever see the scars made by self-indulgence in other experiences. (5092-1)

Here in Greece olive oil is a prime staple. Luckily, one can still find organic real extra virgin oil extracted from the fruits of ancient groves. The stuff is rich and smells wonderful! Native Greeks have been attributed as a people with a long lifespan and part of this is due to the olive oil, loaded with antioxidants, omega-9 fatty acids and other phytonutrients that have anti-aging properties among other things.

A tablespoon of olive oil a day is considered therapy for stomach ulcers as it is considered to literally line the digestive tract. Pretty much fits with what you wrote above.

Indeed, you are lucky.... I pay 55. $ for a gallon. I've heard that in Europe natural sea salt is all that is available too. Sigh....I don't get how you can stand on the back of the surfs and rule the world when your killing all the surfs? Now there's a Riddle! Sounds like a movie title, Live to die another day.... ;) Good Day All....

Lucky in health stuff...I think so, but I don't know how long it's gonna last. Salt is tricky. Most if the fine grained stuff is refined by heating it to really high temperatures that break down the crystal, so one still has to look around. The large-grain salt is usually unrefined, but all our salt is sea-salt. I found a decent bee-keeper for pollen, royal jelly and pine-honey, and my eggs also come from a farmer down the street while there is homemade yogurt from sheep milk sold here, and feta cheeze from goats. The fish are great too (although Mercury is a real concern).

Speaking of which, if you stand on the back of a surf you're just gonna sink, so you gotta keep surfing and hope there's enough surfs to go around...well, not me but those evil surfer dudes

Homeopathy is closely linked to the "memory of water" concept. Indeed, in those cases dilution levels are so high that there is no more active molecule in the water that get used.

Over the last decades many scientist have worked on that topic. The most famous one is probably J Benveniste, a French allergologist who wrote a paper published in Nature about vaccine immunity. In this paper Benveniste showed immune reaction to bee venom in very high dilution.

After those works, Dr Beveniste, who was the discoverer of PAF acether and who was considered by many as a future Nobel prize laureate got rejected by his pairs, saw his research funding get dramatically reduced and died a few years ago.

Dr Benveniste had problems with experiment replicability. Benveniste noted that electromagnetic field "erased" water memory. I suspect that during its experiments Benveniste didn't manage to control all the parameters particularly the electromagnetic related ones.

In Laura's "Secret History of the World" you can find a couple of paragraph not exactly about water memory but about stone memory.

Nice thread here...as an acupuncturist, I've taken the time to research a natural way to take care of just about anything. Here's my recommended list of general medicine, most important first :

1. BREATHE DEEPLY/ MEDITATION
2. CLEAN WATER
3. NUTRITIOUS FOOD, BALANCED DIET
(often specific foods for specific ailments)
4. APPROPRIATE EXERCISE
5. REGULAR CLEANSES, DETOX
6. SUPPLEMENTS (FOOD BASED)
7. ACUPUNCTURE, MASSAGE, PHYSICAL THERAPY, CHIROPRACTOR, ETC
8. HERBAL MEDICINE/ HOMEOPATHY
9. VARIOUS OTHER TECHNIQUES..."the zapper" or chelation therapy as examples
10. EMERGENCY ROOMS, SURGERIES, TEMPORARY USE OF PHARMACEUTICALS
-should always be the last resort

I'm sure I missed some things...but thats just off the top of my head.

This is purely my OPINION. I also believe that every person has personal medicine including "spiritual medicine" which is up that individual to explore and discover with or without the guidance of others. For example, my personal spiritual medicine involves playing the flute, painting, dancing, and spending time in nature...more than just hobbies to me!!!

Oh, and to respond to the beginning question, I have seen and experienced good results with homeopathy. I had a constitutional remedy prepared by student practitioners (possibly a bit risky, but I'm open to experimentation...). The result seemed to be that I was more open to a different lifestyle that has increased my spiritual awareness as well as decreased my self-centerness. Also, my general health seemed to improve...energy levels, digestion, sleeping patterns, etc.

I also knew a person who managed to overcome severe bi-polar disorder with homeopathy and acupuncture combined. He lost legal custody of his young daughter due to his condition, but was later re-evaluated to be stable enough to spend time with her.

Well, my time is up online...gotta go.

hasta luego amigos

I would agree with tree on all, though I don't have any experience with number 7. My mother used to treat us with homeopathy for maybe 10 years, and for all that time I never went to a "medical" doctor - never needed to. Also I can testify that vitamin supplements do work wonder. A general health website that I like is www.doctoryourself.com, though I'm not sure wether there's anything on homeopathy specifically.
