How much weight did you lose after starting the low carb diet?

Have you increased salt and maybe take in some potassium and use some transdermal iodine?

Those are very good suggestion to try, Gimpy. Also you should avoid rice.

Yep, I use extra sea salt, supplement with potassium, and have been adding Dulse seaweed to bone broths. The only thing I can think of is that there's just not enough iodine
in the Dulse, and I know I don't have soup every day.

I'll have a look into transdermal iodine, and see if I can get it locally.

Thank you! :flowers:

Wanted to report something else: my chronic blepharitis that I've battled for years and years seems to have almost completely gone away. I'm not using artificial tears ten times a day anymore either.

Just wanted to give an update - being tall/skinny and having struggled with my weight it seems to now be going in the right direction (thanks to being able to finally digest large amounts of butter).
I was down to about 9 stone (57kg) at my lowest point some months back- which was majorly concerning. Focusing on my digestion (specifically the advice on digestion in Primal Body, Primal Mind) seems to have fixed this, along with possibly a change in location. A pinch of milk thistle powder seems to work better than ox bile for me, when combines with HCL.

So I'm now up to 9 stone 9 (about 61kg)....which probably works out at gaining 2 kg of weight each month :)

I have noticed a tendency to not absorb any food if I eat something I'm sensitive too or my digestion isn't working properly, I concluded this after getting dehydration/leg cramps after eating something that caused a negative reaction with my stomach.

That's got to be a major relief given the amount of reading you do!

:) awesome news Laura!
We all getting better and better.
What we have to consider is, don't set your diets any time limits or goals. For example: in two weeks I must loos 5 KG or so. Take it more naturally and see what your body tells you. From experience some people doing it and after the limit is not reached they slip back in the daily routine, saying "ain't work for me".
Great news Laura

I've lost 6-7 kg for a few month, which I didn't have to lose. :) Then when I got burnt I lost a few more kg, because I eat a little bit less. I'm tall and skinny, 56kg in weight and almost 1.8m in height, right now. So I'm working on gaining my weight. But, I'm feeling very good, after my dietery changes.

I posted in another thread, but since I posted earlier in this one I will give an update. I started last July at about 320 pounds ( was VERY depressed after career loss) , and I am now at 165 pounds, which is what I weighed in high school. I am tall- 5'9". Most of the weight was off by December. It sounds really unreal, but I did send Laura pictures so she could see. I have not felt this good in a long time.

Actually, it was the easiest thing I have ever done in my life. I really read a lot for a couple months and got a really good understanding, then having that understanding, realized if I did not do it I could not complain about anything to myself ever again without seeing what was diet related. So that was that. I could not weigh for most of the time, as I had broken my scale, but m clothes just kept getting baggier. About a month a go I broke down and bought one. I am smaller now than before I gained the weight. I have never been hungry not once. As I told Laura, I know what is like to melt before my own eyes. Just unreal.
