How much weight did you lose after starting the low carb diet?

I lost 15 kgs, from 86 to 71 kgs, in 4 months after moving to keto diet! It has been very determinant in this weight losing business since I only lost 1 or 2 kgs before the keto diet! Have still to work on the energy side, though it's already better than before.

First 'before' shot were taken in the fall of 2009, I think I was about 215 lbs in this one.

2nd is the 'after' image, taken this spring if my memory serves me well while ziplining. Probably 150-something lbs. (not sure)

Wow, Nuke! That is a pretty big transformation. I woulda never guessed you were ever overweight. Congrats and keep up the good health! I keep telling folks around me, it's the food they eat, but they are disinterested in making any changes.

I was told by some colleagues I didn't see for more than a year that I lost a lot of weight. I checked and I am actually weighting around 74kg. Last time they saw me I was weighting around >100kg. It is of course just a side effect of the health improvement that is due to the paleo then the ketogenic diet, but it is a good way to get people interrested discussing diet if they make the choice to do so.

I lost a fiew kg more, it is sure, but that is done more than 4 years that I don't have a balance at home, but everyone tells me the same thing; "you lost weight much.." (same to my wife) the last time I've see a balance (3 weeks ago) I was 64kg (1.72m).. I never was more of 72 kg, and that was 15 years ago..
I think enters 2 and 4 kg in more and less one year paleo diet.. and every days more with the new keto diet, (I see it with the new hole which I need on my cienture)
If somebody know how to make for not to loos more kg? I'm taking

Starting the paleo diet progressively (taking away some foods little by little) back in late 2009 I lost around 15kg total. I was weighing 80-83kg and dropped to 65kg, I have been always "skinny" though, but people still noticed, and I noticed the weight loss specially in my face. Now with the KD since Oct-'12 and some exercise I have been gaining a few kilos, not much, maybe 2 or 3.

I've always struggled with food. I've been ignorant about it also until coming to this forum. I've been on many fads, we know what they are, including vegetarianism. And alas, more ignorance and more unhealthy fat that I hide well because its tight. Or it LOOKS tight with clothes. Its amazing what masters of disguise we can be. I relate to those pics, nuke, you hide it well. But wow, what a transformation. I am now also off sugar, gluten, wheat, soy and dairy. It's a whole other existence, rather a LIFE. I have lost 6lbs. in 2 weeks. I didn't begin this way of eating to lose weight. Its an inevitable outcome that you can actually feel melting away, as a result. "Life without Bread", and "Primal Body, Primal Mind", are my new resources that are by my side. The adherence to these will bring me to my healthy weight , whatever that may be. I've asked and asked and finally asked the question correctly without begging or grasping. The EE breathing, POTS, and all the books that are on the list in the intro brought me here. The bottom is the place where you are no longer willing to go on the way you are going. I was scared and I wanted without any doubt to be the highest expression of myself. I was led and all I had to to was be open to the solution of what I asked. I was ready. You can't have a real love story if you are allowing yourself to be poisoned. Its not gonna happen. From all I've read and considered, nothing else can stand up to this way of eating. I knew it was the truth and when I REALLY know I don't do well at hiding. Voila! I am happy to report I am on my way. This unhealthy fat, skin tone etc. is leaving into the black hole it feels at home in. It is only by the care of all of you who are engaged in life.

I realize now that you say it, that my cellulite seem to have dissapeared too, might be because of weightloss, but I think skinny people can have cellulite too, so might be a sign of better health

That's a big change! Congratulations to Nuke.

I started low-carb diet since August, 2011, since then I slowly gained weight. When I started doing resistance exercise from September last year, I put on extra weight – so total 6-7kg over the year. And I am gaining a lot of muscles! Right now I am on a strict zero carb diet – I am expecting to lose some of my weight that I gained (which I do not think that it is necessary, but since a lot of people lost weight with this diet it can happen) but so far, it has been stable.

40 pounds now (~18kg). I'm pretty much at my ideal weight which I haven't been for 25 years. It all happened very gradually and there are no fluctuations.

Thank you Lilou and Aya :)
Sure feels good after being overweight almost all my life. (except for when I grew to my current height over the course of one summer when I was 15, I got leaner but that didn't last long because of my bad dietary habits back then)

Aya, how much did you weight before and how tall are you? The reason I'm asking is maybe you didn't 'need' to lose any weight in the first place if you only gained muscle. I think I might be gaining some weight back now too actually.

I weigh 47-48kg (103.4-105.82 lbs) before, now I weigh 53-54kg (116.84-119.04 lbs).
I am 164cm (5' 4) tall and I don't look different before and after - except:

*My thighs are getting bigger that I had to throw out coupe of my skinny pants, they do not fit me anymore!
*My arms looked like twigs before, now I see some muscles!

Plus, I am getting leaner for sure.
I was still eating lots of protein when I started to do the resistence excercise 4 months ago. That perhaps caused me to gain some weight.

Also, I was in Japan before I started the low carb diet. After I moved to Canada, I began to eat grass fed meat almost every day throughout the year - I had never had this much of good meat before in my entire life. That for sure was a big change for my body.

I have lost about 40 pounds now, in about 18 months. I think I can stand to lose a bit more, but it feels a lot better already. I am at 185 lbs (84 kg), and I am no longer overweight in terms of BMI. I last weighed this much about 4 1/2 years ago, and I am just a few pounds over what I weighed when I started college, 45 years ago.

When I reached this point the last time, people were warning me I looked like I was starving, which I was. Mostly people have not noticed it this time. The KD takes off the weight in a different way, burning fat instead of muscle.

I had been in a plateau at about 188 lbs, but when I started experimenting with very low carb fiber foods for feeding the gut bacteria, it started going down again.

Just after Barcelona in December, 2011, I had lost 20 lbs. (just > than 9 kg's). Thinking this would still change further, it actually has only done so by a small amount (5 lbs or just > 2 kg.) The diet seems to have just maintained a pretty fixed regular weight, not changing +/- by any real measure.

6 years ago I was weighting 42kg (157cm) due to too low bad food intake, then I increased it to 57kg with too much bad food intake. 2 years ago I started slowly on paleo diet, my weight started to balance and I have 47kg for a year. Today I'm on KD and still have the same weight and what is important to me is that candida is gone.
