How secure is your home?

Luckily my home is in a safe neighbourhood, anyways my doggie is the best security guard ever!!

Ya - bump keys - which is sort of like a universal key for a particular lock type. This means it's nearly child's play to open most door locks:

Yeh, thanks for that RedFox. That video exactly shows what I was trying to say about how you can twist the protruding barrel (if it sticks out too much), so as to snap the lock barrel in the middle, the weakest point.

In the same test as what's in the video, as far as I understand it at the moment, if it was the Avocet ABS lock in the video, it wouldn't snap in the middle, it would snap at an insignificant point nearer to the outside, and the thief wouldn't be able to access the lock mechanism.

It's true that there's no way to really secure a home. Like many things, i think that the more you try to make it secure, the more like a prison it becomes. I guess that applies to countries too if i can judge by the U.S. Although in that case i'd need to put it in quotes; "secure".

Hi Kevinross,

Welcome to our forum. :)

We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, how they found the cass material, and how much of the work here they have read.

You can have a look through that board to see how others have done it
