How to have an unhealthy relationship

I found the most funny the random little things (and the unexpectedness in general), like the "brush of fine, healthy, lead based paint". I guess I don't have enough personal experience (i.e. none) of relationships, be they dysfunctional or otherwise, for the rest to have such a strong effect. But appreciate it I did - and now I know in greater detail what I've been "missing out on" all these years! ;)

Oh man, that is so Hicksian!

Great story Atreides, I wonder what will become of little Timmy? Will he sink into his imprinted role in the feeding economy or struggle to become clean with himself and the Universe?

lol yeah this was really funny, but then towards the middle and end it just kept hitting so close to home, and now I'm all sad and reflective about my own present and past relationships and how many times I couldn't overpower my own ego to stop a feeding dynamic. Not to mention the ones where I'm the one who is food right now, and the worst of all - where you know something is wrong but you can't put your finger on it, you're not sure who is actually food, or exactly what is wrong, or if it's even wrong and it's not just you confusing things. I swear relationships must contain like 99% of all the hardest lessons.

And the idea that being hurt leads to you then being paranoid and ending up hurting someone else (like if you now have trust issues, etc), is just so true! Way to entertain and depress at the same time dude :)

I definitely see the humor in it - it's quick and witty. I also see the sadness, though - it makes me sad, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending. ;)

I definitely caught the humor in it. I kept thinking of the narrator as Troy McClure from the Simpsons for some reason.

Like Anne, I'm a sucker for a happy ending so I did wonder if Timmy ever found what he was really looking for. But the way you ended it totally went with the Troy McClure segments, kind of ending with him making the comment of what the moral of the story was.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.

Yeah, it was very inspired by Troy, I almost did a "You might remember me from such educational films as: Panhandling for fun and profit, and 911 Prank Calls, Fun for awhile, but prison isn't."

LOL that is awesome!!! :rotfl:

Well, I was smiling, and found it quite funny and entertaining (although I also saw the sad side in it). I saw/heard the characters as well, which made it pretty alive.
Just imagine this would be a way to educate kids/people on it - you touch opposed sides of their emotional world, thereby perhaps opening them up more to the material, and convey the message to them in a way that's gonna stick in their minds for sure, because you're using different levels...other pathways of the brain perhaps, creative learning in short, igniting them with the very flame that was inside you when creating the material.

It could however indeed be polished up a bit, like giving more depth/substance/authenticity (whatever that would eventually look like) to the characters, especially Timmy is not yet quite convincing.
Still, I was a bit disappointed that it ended so abruptly, cause I was baited already big time! :) Would be cool if you continued.

I don't know, I suppose I could, but Hicks wasn't all about the happy endings either, I don't want to give the wrong message, I definitely hope there is a better way, but how could it have a happy ending without getting too preachy.

Given that the universe is open and that everything that can happen does, in any number of parallell existences, I'd say that both ends will occur for sure. ;)

Sure, but that's like:

There are two universes, in one you are going to get hit by a car, and in another, you won't. It still sucks to live in the one you do.

Well, there is supposed to be some kind of balance to it All, so, looking with ridiculous detachment at the issue, one could say that it is perfect that way.

Quick note: That last post was supposed to be humorous - though not sure if anyone else has the same sense of absurdity.

There is an absurdness to it, in the same way that there - for me, at any rate - is a humorous absurdness to when the C's suggested that painful experiences, seen from their perspective in the future, are ecstatic. The absurdness (and humor) comes largely from considering seriously at once that both perspectives may be true.

Be they, or be they not, existence truly is a strange matter.

Two things I should say:

First, I apologize for deadening the discussion that went on rapidly just before I made my last postings. I think they went too far from the spirit of the thread.

Second, I feel that I was buffering something - there is a sense of sadness now appearing. My buffering is thick, as I've written before, and emotional reactions often quite delayed.

Sorry, and hope you can carry on if there's more to be done in this thread.

Narrator: Yes Timmy, it truly is, but look on the bright side, after 70 or so years of heart wrenching failure, you'll welcome death with open arms.

Well that nearly made me choke on my tea! Too funny! :rotfl:

I would just say Keep them coming Atreides, they are very good.

If you didn't laugh, or find it funny say so, that's cool, but I didn't post it to get sympathy I posted it to be funny, satirical, and educational all at once. I wanted someone else to chuckle and say, yeah man, funny and kinda true in a twisted way, or hey man that brightened my day.

Mission accomplished, Atreides! It definitely made me laugh, but I guess that's just experience! I have visions of a future youtube animation... :D
