How to try to follow the STO path in this situation

I have come to face something that may soon affect many others.
I remember how appalled I was that Hugo Boss made its fortune sewing uniforms for, among others, the Wehrmacht.
The company in which I am director of production intends to produce bulletproof vests and military footwear.
As for wearing masks and vaccines, I did not comply.
I understand that it all depended on whether the compliance was due to a concern for preserving income and through that taking care of family and loved ones.
But this situation is a different caliber.
I don't know how to deal with it internally.

Thank you for your work in this wonderful community and I would appreciate some advice.

That's a tough situation ziutek... I don't have any answers.. What are your choices, what are you in a position to possibly do? Quit your job?

You could look at it like: Bulletproof vests can help to save lives (even if they can also help enable bad military actions).. At least your company isn't making something innately destructive!

The way I understand what the C's have said about STS/STO/etc is that we are all currently STS, there's no getting around it... We can only maybe take paths *towards* STO.. What those paths might be, I don't think can always be simply defined, or predicted.. If you keep patiently observing and learning, and are honest with yourself, I think the right moment to act will suddenly appear, and you'll do what comes naturally.. Until then, you can prepare yourself for that moment..

Those were my only thoughts, sorry if they're a bit vague! I don't know what I'd do in that situation..

Hello Ziutek, I don't think that working in company that made things for army is STS. Probably from higher view point it's just doing things for money(energy) as everyone else. What is improntant is what you do in your life to make progress in lessons from your soul. It's not like you shouldn't worry about things in your job but it's up to you what is your goal in this life e.g. you feel that your goal is to make large protest in your job to stop war, or you feel that your goal is to help others thanks to the money that you earned etc. There is no good or evil, everything is just a lessons and all is up to you - your own work with your own life, but it's just my opinion :-)

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that. There are many, many worse things that are produced in this world, and as Brandon said, bulletproof vests are protective. So it depends on who is using them, but everyone, regardless of their orientation, has the right to protect themselves in whatever way they can.

If it was me and had no other source of income. I would keep the Job, put it out to the universe you want to do something else to earn money and see what happens. Don't be to hard on yourself, do what you have to do to survive in this mad world. If that means making bullet proof vests, so be it. Who knows maybe the good guys might get their hands on them.

Maybe we all should by a vest ftom him so he knows for sure that he is protecting the fam. On the serious note I agree with everyone that it is matter of perspective. When it comes to sto there always worse like taking other people's lives so we are good.

Hi ziutek, like others have said, I would not worry too much about being involved in the production of defensive equipment, even if in some cases it happens to protect the wrong kind of people.

I've been in a somewhat similar position to yours. The first job I did was working for an aerospace/defence company in their offices and production sites. They were making defensive, non-lethal equipment and other kind of products that were not directly involved in the killing of people. Later on, I also worked for large multinationals in completely different sectors and I felt that they were doing more harm to society than the former.

Thank you all for your comments.
That's what I thought, we live in such a world and with the conditions it gives we have to cope. However, I treated it as excuses or in Gurdjieffian bumperstickers.
And in part I agree with you but still when the opportunity arises I will change jobs.

The way I look at it is like this : Humanity produces or is given many things which can be used for good or bad. For example, Imagine a village where the occupants have not learned how to extract and forge metal. I could walk into that village and give them a knife. They could use that knife to prepare food, meat and shape wood. They could also use it to kill or wound each other, and use it to threaten and exert power over others. It is their choice how to use it.

There are many other examples : Nuclear power can be used to make weapons, the internet can be used to network, or spread lies and deceit.

How your products are used you have no control over how others will use them - it is their free will. I guess as long as your intentions are to help then that is all you can do.

I think you've received a lot of wise advice. i'll add 2 cents worth of observation: stay vigilant. these are interesting times of invasion by bizarre entities, so to speak, that take forms that may initially seem harmless. try to keep an eye out not only for any changes in management and company policy (with an eye on what's happening at the human resources level), but also discreetly maintain or deepen your contacts with the lower levels of the company (workers, cafeteria workers). net of gossip, valuable imputs often come from them.

And in part I agree with you but still when the opportunity arises I will change jobs.

It is uncomfortable to find yourself in a position where what you do may serve to the detriment of others, but beginning to understand that you are not forcing anyone (consumer) to use it in the wrong way eases the burden. It's like blaming the inventor of the automobile for the victims of drunk drivers.

For example, my job is to use people's emotions to hire my service, advertising. The focus I am giving it is more towards helping the person to move forward in their personal project as well. To see what I can do beyond the service I offer. Not to see that weakness to present them with "super offers". I propose to combine knowledge to boost each other and project ourselves in the market we want to cover. The others have something I need to move forward and I have something they need to move forward, let's complement it and if possible even exchange work. Not everything can be at a collaborative level because I need to eat and pay bills, but if there is honesty and colinearity, everything can work and we will both win.

I have also met very radical people ideologically who wish death to others, just because they think differently. And yes, I have even refused to work with some, but I can't make my situation worse just because ironically they also think differently than me, right? you see the point? I must learn to hold back, be patient and just focus on the main goal, the money I need to keep eating.

I think Gurdjieff said it: The worst punishment they already have, is to be who they are.

It is good that you are observing this split between your intellectual and emotional… remember the 4th way the work is about practicing it within while living life. So you have yourself, your job and life to live. I think there are three things to factor in here
