Good point, though I think the concept even if it came from Freud, is still useful to understand the orientation of one's existence. Maybe let's not call it the Ego, we can call it the identity, that is, the person we believe ourselves to be, and it becomes so essential to maintain its survival, that one is willing to sacrifice truth, honesty, and anything else that might threaten it, eve one's own thoughts.Interesting thread. “Ego”. If we are primarily transducers of information and energy then there might not be a point of reference like an ego. So I think self might be more of a field.
